Workouts

So I don't work out much so I'm not sure why I wrote this prompt, but a prompt is a prompt. Here are some ideas for workout videos (and for all I know they already exist) and, because I had some ideas, workouts in general.

  1. Workout videos with your pet. Now surely some of these exist, but I'll elaborate. I would like to see some yoga videos that you can try and do with your pets although this would be hard considering most pets would probably just be confused. I'd also like to see some typical workouts incorporate animals. What if I try squats while cuddling a puppy? Can I do a pushup with a cat on my back? How man curls of an iguana can I do? Really this is me trying to get me at all interested into working out and incorporating a cute pet would definitely be a way to do it for me.
  2. Captain on the deck. Now did anyone else play this game? There are a bunch of versions of it, but one person is the captain and calls out a bunch of different orders that tell the players what actions to do. 'Captain on the deck,' tells the players to stand at attention. They can't be released from this until the order 'at ease.' 'Shark attack' means you have to hug another player, if someone can't find another player, they're out. 'Man overboard' involves three people. Two people hold hands and make a circle for the third to stand in. Again, if you don't end up in a group, you're out. 'Four men in a rowboat' means people have to sit down in a line of four and pretend to row (again, you're out if you don't fit in a 'rowboat'). 'Starfish' means five people have to stand in a circle, put their hands in the middle, and walk around saying "starfish." If you don't fit in a group, you're out. Now, couldn't this be adapted to do standard workout moves? I know I would be much more likely to workout if it was a childish game like this because it wouldn't be about whether or not I'm fit, it's really just a goofy recall and luck game. 'Captain on the deck' could be a plank. 'Shark attack' could be partner up and practice sparring. 'Man overboard' could be two people spotting someone trying to do a headstand. 'Four men in a rowboat' could actually just involve rowing machines. 'Starfish' would have five people stand in a line and do jumping jacks while saying 'starfish'. Maybe this only sounds fun to me, but I would definitely play this game and do this workout.
  3. Workout games instead of drinking games. The idea here is that instead of taking a drink every time a specific thing happens, you have to do an exercise. So maybe instead of a sip of your beer when Ross mentions dinosaurs, you do five jumping jacks. Now I know that these do exist, but honestly a video that I could play along to an episode of something would help me keep track. I have tried to do these before and just got a bit lost because it's too many things to remember to do at once. Plus if there is a video, it could tell you what episode is good for what kind of workout (cardio, strength, stretching) and how intense it'll be because it's already been all mapped out.
  4. Cycling class set to episodes. As you can tell, TV can motivate me to do a lot. I know cycling classes are set to music often, but to be honest that doesn't keep me engaged. Imagine one set to The Walking Dead, you peddle gently when things are chill and you start to peddle faster when that horde of walkers is coming at you. It's a little like larping, but more exercise focused.
  5. Escape the room workouts. Now this would be a bit trickier to figure out, but I don't see why some escape the rooms couldn't incorporate a workout component. Someone is watching you in the room anyways, so it could be to get a clue you all have to do 25 jumping jacks or something. Then you take the clue and get to the next one. But that one instructs you to do 30 pushups to get the next bit of the puzzle. I don't know, it'd need some workshopping, but if there is a game goal in mind, I'd be much more into it.
Okay now someone figure out how to monetize these and we'll get rich!

15 facts about my dad

Just been thinking about some lighthearted facts I know about my dad lately. When he was young, he had a goldfish named Lysander He introduced me to Star Trek At Christmas, he would tear up at It's a Wonderful Life He used to send me articles from his Yahoo email account that he thought I'd like We used to play a game called "Nightmare" where he would lie down and we'd jump around (and sometimes on) him He would clip possible recipes for us to try out of newspapers and magazines We bought him a Paddington Bear to take on trips because we feared he'd be lonely and he always took it He had teddy bears for three different holidays We once had such a hilariously difficult time building a gingerbread house that when some frosting ended up on the counter, I plopped a gumdrop on it and we laughed until we cried He and his sister were born about 11 months apart We would try recipes from Top Chef He kept gifts I made him, even when they weren't great At Christmas, ...

Tell yourself you can panic later (you'll likely never find the time to, but it'll help) Wear a mask because he's immunocompromised (and besides, you've been out trying to live a life which means you could've caught something) Turn on the Olympics because he can't use a remote anymore and no one has helped him (besides, it's always on these days and he at least used to enjoy it) Practice your sanitized answers to his questions (he won't remember them, but no need to alarm him about in his life, your life, or the world for even a moment) Try not to be in the way of the nurses (you'll fail) Sit on the bed because there is no where else to (and realize your arm is resting against his urine jug) Worry that his bed should be alarmed when he gets up to go to the bathroom (he make...
