Now, I could possibly look up who the genius was behind National Puppy Day, but that wouldn't be fun. Once you find out who a mystery person is, they usually aren't as cool or witty or idealistic as you thought they were. It's far more fun to speculate.
I bet the National Puppy Day creator loves dogs. Yes, yes, this is all obvious. But I mean LOVES dogs. Like the National Puppy Day creator has never had a period in their life where they did not own at least two dogs (even when they were in college and lived in a dorm, they still figured it out). The National Puppy Day creator also has strong opinions about the importance of adopting pets, but they also have strong opinions about which breeds are the smartest, the prettiest, the most loyal, the best with kids, the most energetic, the goofiest, the most useful to have on a farm, and pretty much any other quality you can imagine a dog having. They also watch any dog show that they can and not just on TV. No, no, the National Puppy Day creator gets tickets to these shows and is a judge at a fair few, that's how much they love dogs.
I also imagine that their love of dogs translates into their decor. Dogs are a common favorite animal so it wouldn't be hard to get sheets, blankets, towels, and any other linens I can't think of right now with a dog print on them. You know there are also tons of shirts and other clothes with dogs or, at least, dog print on them. There is also a ton of dog art out there and the National Puppy Day creator collects it as well as makes it.
All of the National Puppy Day creator's favorite shows have to include a dog. They love Scooby Doo, Game of Thrones, Lassie, and even got into Modern Family once Stella was introduced. Really, they say, what's the point of a show if there isn't a dog? And they do have a point, everyone cares about a dog even more than the main characters sometimes.
For a job, the National Puppy Day creator would have to have something dog related. Now this could be working at a shelter or being a vet, but those seem a bit commonplace. I much more prefer to think of them as some sort of dog expert. Like they would be called upon to deal with difficult dogs that need some training or maybe they're even one of those new age dog therapists. But especially, they'd be called upon when a movie needs to know more about dogs to make it more accurate or when a news story needs someone to comment on why a dog would act one way or another. Who those people are or what their exact jobs are, I don't know. But, I do know that the National Puppy Day creator is one of them.
Now since the National Puppy Day creator specifically focused on puppies, that must mean that they are pretty energetic themselves. Sure, puppies are the cutest and that's a big reason why the National Puppy Day creator made it National Puppy Day and not National Dog Day, but there are other reasons too. They love to chase around after energetic puppies and have a seemingly infinite amount of energy. They're bubbly and fun and are always down to play. I guess I imagine the National Puppy Day creator being somewhat puppy like in that way. If they are somewhat puppy like I also imagine that they're just a little bit reckless and not the neatest of people, but that's okay cause they're pretty great otherwise. They delight in the smallest things and always very clear about their emotions. Sure they may get insanely excited about little things, but isn't that very sweet?
Now we must think about what the National Puppy Day creator's goal was in creating the National Puppy Day. Some of it was surely just to celebrate puppies and, as I've imagined, since they're a dog lover who is somewhat puppy like, this all adds up. But I imagine there had to be some other goals as well. One is surely adoption. There are tons of puppies that need a good home and they probably hoped that having a National Puppy Day would encourage some people to go out there and finally get that puppy they've been wanting, I also bet that they knew that having a national day would involve the creation of even more puppy related clothes, linens, art, and any kid of home good that you can stick a picture on. Having this national day would allow the National Puppy Day creator to furnish their home with even more puppy items and isn't that their dream? Having a national day could also eventually lead to themed episodes of television. How many shows have a Halloween episode? Tons! Now the National Puppy Day isn't at the Halloween level yet, but one day it could be and then every show would have at least one puppy on it.
If you end up looking up who the real creator is, please don't tell me unless they match everything I've just said. I'm quite enjoying this image of an energetic puppy eccentric and don't really want that spoiled. Let me just have this nice thing.
