15 ideas for theme hotels

You know, back in the day, a standardized test did tell me I should manage a hotel. So maybe this is fate.

  1. Escape the room. Now before you go getting concerned that I'm trapping guests in hotel rooms, all escape the rooms come with an easy out button, so guests could use that if they have to leave. Also, I would be sure in case of a fire alarm that the doors just fly open. But, wouldn't it be fun to have an escape the room to stay in. I would also have smaller puzzles for getting to the bathroom and closets. There would also be hotel amenities that you have to solve a puzzle to get into.
  2. It's definitely not haunted hotel. So this would be a hotel that we say is all fake haunted stuff. We have paintings with moving eyes and spooky decor and books of ghost stories for you to read. But then...some things seem to go awry. The people in the room next to you are being loud? Oh right, yes, there are TOTALLY people there. I will look into that. Haha the power went out...the eyes of the paintings are still moving? Must be batteries! Oh don't worry, we always have the maids rushing around very quickly for that one room. No I am the same woman who checked you in.
  3. Foster animal hotel. What if we had hotels that were cheaper if you helped look after foster animals? The animals get some love and work gets done for them and guests get some nice savings.
  4. Murder mystery hotel. Each room gets its own mystery to solve, but they are all interconnected. Guests can try and rely on each other for clues or try and solve it themselves. There will also be certain staff members (clearly marked with like a pin or something) who can be asked to help or have vital clues.
  5. Decorate your own room hotel. The walls of the room would be painted with black board paint so that guests could draw their own designs (and then can be easily removed). There would also be ways to decorate pretty much everything in the room. Anything that could be painted with black board paint will be (dressers, doors, etc.).
  6. Storytelling hotel. Guest books would have ample room to write stories, people could record their own stories and then access the ones that people left (staff would have to vet these a bit), the staff would have a podcast, there would be daily storytelling sessions, and, of course, tons of books to read.
  7. Reality show hotel. Now imagine if in any of those reality shows where they put people up in a big house that you could stay in another room in that house. Another element of potential drama is interacting with the other guests and some people would love to witness that drama first hand.
  8. Animal hotel. Each room would be themed after a different animal. There would be animal themed decor, books about the animals, a list of fun facts, and ways to contribute to the care and conservation of the animals. There would also be a gift shop and, for appropriate animals, occasional meet and greets with live ones.
  9. Cocktail hotel. Each room would be themed after a cocktail and the ingredients and tools necessary for it would be in the room (you would have to be over 21 for this hotel). There would also be a good bar within the hotel with special cocktails specific to the hotel (maybe including ones that guests came up with). I also imagine there would be cocktail classes nightly.
  10. I spy hotel. There would be multiple lists of things to spy (room specific, public area specific, gardens specific). Guests would also be encouraged to hide something else in their room and tell the staff so that the list could be updated.
  11. Cryptid hotel. Similar to the animal hotel, each room would be themed after a certain cryptid. There would also be books about the cryptid and any and all evidence for them. There would be documentary screenings of cryptid related topics and, depending on where the hotel is, tours to try and find a local cryptid.
  12. Weird history hotel. I would love to have rooms themed about bizarre moments in history and have all books about the topic (since these would be weird bits of history I don't imagine there would be many).'
  13. Chocolate hotel. The rooms would smell like chocolate, have complimentary chocolates, and have books on chocolate. The hotel would, of course, have an exemplary chocolate menu as well as chocolate making classes and baking classes that involve chocolate. There would also be chocolate sculptures and, if possible, chocolate sculpting classes.
  14. Aquarium hotel. There would be aquariums (aquaria?) filled with fish. There would be chances to help decorate the aquariums and screenings of various ocean themed movies and documentaries.
  15. Genre fiction hotel. Each room would be a different genre (or sub-genre) such as spy novel or cozy mystery or supernatural romance. There would be tons of books for each room, costumes appropriate to the genre, and a list of other recommended books.

I've officially begun my second cycle. On Wednesday, I had a virtual appointment, yesterday I had my baseline ultrasound, and today I began injections again. On Wednesday, I expressed my concern about my weight and was told not to fret about it for this cycle but that I should work on it for my health. I got told some vague things about measuring my food by volume and weight and that being the key the weight loss (idk it sounded weird to me). But other than that my appointment went well and I really liked the PA I met with. Overall, she was supportive and encouraging me to advocate for myself. Yesterday, I had to get up earlier than normal (6am) so I could make it to my ultrasound at 7am (I have asked for future ultrasounds to be at 8am). I got weighed (ugh), had my blood drawn, and t...

Now, that may sound like I'm bailing out of my fertility journey, but it's actually the opposite. In order to get everything ready for the egg retrieval, I need to hop on birth control for a little bit and then hop off. It feels a bit odd to be taking oral birth control, have a birth control arm implant, and be getting ready for an egg retrieval--but that's how it goes (for me at least--getting to keep the arm implant is rare or so I'm told). People have asked me how I'm feeling about this round of egg retrieval and honestly, I haven't thought about it much yet. I am focused on a big stressful event for work and then C2E2 (Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo--basically, Chicago's Comic-Con) which I attend every year. Because of these two events (one stressful, one fun), I del...
