15 ways to stay active during self-solation

I know I have really let my activity slide.

  1. Take a dog for a walk. Don't have one? As your friend who does if you can take their dog for a walk
  2. Do work out videos at home. There are so many!
  3. Play a workout game. This idea is like a drinking game but instead of doing a shot, you do five push ups. Make up your own or, ask me and I'll make up one for you
  4. Clean. Now maybe this is just me, but I find cleaning works up a sweat
  5. Rearrange your furniture. You have the time! Try finding a new way to lay out everything in your apartment
  6. Do lifts with your pet or baby. How many squats can you do while holding your little loved one? They will probably think of this as a game and then you can get some exercise
  7. Have a dance party. You can do this by yourself or video chat with a friend and do it that way
  8. Stretch! You may be more sedentary these days and it is super important to stretch so you stay comfortable
  9. Try to learn a dance through videos or from a friend over video chat
  10. Make an obstacle course in your home (especially good if you have kids). Setting it up will be exercise and then you can also run through it
  11. Go for a walk or run outside. This is one of the reasons you can go out still, so take advantage!
  12. Play a lively game of charades. If you really get into it, you can work up a sweat
  13. Not home alone? Play hide and seek or sardines. You can really get yourself moving with these
  14. Make your own work out video. Do you have a routine you do at home already? Share it!
  15. Take frustration out on a pillow. I think we'll all be getting frustrated while stuck at home, so why not punch a pillow? Cathartic and a good workout

15 facts about my dad

Just been thinking about some lighthearted facts I know about my dad lately. When he was young, he had a goldfish named Lysander He introduced me to Star Trek At Christmas, he would tear up at It's a Wonderful Life He used to send me articles from his Yahoo email account that he thought I'd like We used to play a game called "Nightmare" where he would lie down and we'd jump around (and sometimes on) him He would clip possible recipes for us to try out of newspapers and magazines We bought him a Paddington Bear to take on trips because we feared he'd be lonely and he always took it He had teddy bears for three different holidays We once had such a hilariously difficult time building a gingerbread house that when some frosting ended up on the counter, I plopped a gumdrop on it and we laughed until we cried He and his sister were born about 11 months apart We would try recipes from Top Chef He kept gifts I made him, even when they weren't great At Christmas, ...
