15 ways to stay social during self-isolation

I know I struggle with this sometimes, so please tell me of any other suggestions you have.

  1. Write letters (if you want one, please send me your address)
  2. Write letter-like emails instead of just business ones
  3. Have team video meetings that are for checking in instead of other topics. We have these and it's nice (especially as a newbie to the team) to just check in and see people's pets
  4. Have video happy hours (my team is doing them on Fridays)
  5. Teach friend's something over video. Do you know how to dance? Can you teach a cooking technique?
  6. Have a video dance party. You can even do this as a silent disco so everyone is listening to their own stuff but everyone is dancing together
  7. Be sure to smile and say hello to people you do see in person
  8. Be sure thank any people providing a service to you (you should do this anyways, but it is especially important as they are more stressed than normal now)
  9. Remote game nights. Tons of games can be played online or can be done through video chat easily enough
  10. Schedule video chats with loved ones. I find it much harder to do video chats if I haven't scheduled it in advance
  11. Can't find time to video chat? Record video messages and send them
  12. Browse goofy sites so you can find fun things to send friends. I love getting goofy memes and other things from people because it lets me know that they're thinking of me
  13. Send "just checking in" messages to loved ones
  14. Watch things with people. You can do this in a few ways, but sharing something is a great way to connect
  15. Have a virtual book club

15 facts about my dad

Just been thinking about some lighthearted facts I know about my dad lately. When he was young, he had a goldfish named Lysander He introduced me to Star Trek At Christmas, he would tear up at It's a Wonderful Life He used to send me articles from his Yahoo email account that he thought I'd like We used to play a game called "Nightmare" where he would lie down and we'd jump around (and sometimes on) him He would clip possible recipes for us to try out of newspapers and magazines We bought him a Paddington Bear to take on trips because we feared he'd be lonely and he always took it He had teddy bears for three different holidays We once had such a hilariously difficult time building a gingerbread house that when some frosting ended up on the counter, I plopped a gumdrop on it and we laughed until we cried He and his sister were born about 11 months apart We would try recipes from Top Chef He kept gifts I made him, even when they weren't great At Christmas, ...
