Thoughts on RuPaul's Drag Race season 12, episode 13

I'm curious to see how this format works out.

  1. The Shady Bunch is adorable
  2. Not sure how I feel about them saying technically only 12 queens...I just don't know if joking about it works with me
  3. It sounds like Ru is having trouble talking with that mask on
  4. Man I hadn't even thought about how one of the queens might've gotten sick
  5. Who is Jessica Fletcher?
  6. Oh my god how many of the same wig does Aiden own?
  7. I sorta hoped that Heidi would've moved by now
  8. Crystal's outfit is so fun
  9. "Oversharing is caring"
  10. Jaida is the only one with her own geographical segment
  11. Heidi's outfit reminds me of the outfit Dahlia was sent home in
  12. I love the big googly eyes behind Gigi
  13. Heidi N. Closet is a fun name, but I do think it should be Heidi Hepiphany
  14. [This Amazon Music ad is using a lot of the same imagery as the ads warning people against vaping]
  15. Wow Aiden can't not roll her eyes
  16. Entwined...or entined? Get it?
  17. Does Crystal have to hold that candle this whole time?
  18. I really didn't think of Jackie as bossy
  19. I'm so glad that Lisa Rinna recorded a message, it was very sweet
  20. "You said you had multiple personalities, why only one wig?"
  21. It's weird for them to add in music now, but not earlier
  22. Aiden wasn't doing good though...like so many queens were doing better
  23. Yeah, Widow you were accurate
  24. I'm glad that Aiden and Brita don't actually hate each other
  25. It is actually pretty funny to see their lower halves
  26. I love that Jan has a shade button
  27. I'm so glad that Rock and her mom are working on their relationship
  28. FINALLY WE GET TO WIDOW
  29. Widow did get in her head and I mean I believe her when she says she didn't open up, but like we saw her share a lot of deep stuff
  30. Haha I didn't notice which Jan face was on her robe
  31. Jan really should've done Kris Jenner for the Snatch Game
  32. Jaida's balls to the wall is a toot
  33. Aiden's balls to the wall is a boot for sure
  34. Crystal's Freddy look is a toot
  35. Was that a real bathroom break?
  36. I think Brita's cape look was a toot
  37. Gigi's prom look I think was kinda meh, but I guess between toot and boot I would pick toot
  38. Heidi's look was again meh but I guess I'd pick a boot
  39. I love that Jackie got Heidi the dress
  40. I love these fake glasses
  41. It is insane how Patricia Quinn reacted to Aiden
  42. I am a bit surprised that Dahlia isn't in her broccoli outfit for this
  43. Nicky that was a bit of a bomb
  44. I love that Widow had great glasses
  45. Widow...I don't think R. Kelly is a solid person to joke about
  46. Okay so we're all just pretending drama
  47. VANJIE!
  48. I love that Vanjie is still hitting on Jackie
  49. I love how all of them are going to be Vanjie
  50. Widow...was that off the cuff?
  51. Brita is asking herself a question...it is kinda fun but it is weird
  52. I love that Brita is in on the joke about how much she talked about NYC
  53. So I guess Crystal and Gigi aren't dating?
  54. The photo of Dahlia and her twin was very fun
  55. I love that Crystal lit her candle
  56. WOW Crystal's brother is so hot
  57. I'm glad Jackie's mom has come around
  58. That note was really sweet
  59. I love that Leslie Jones signed Rock's boob
  60. I love what a Star Trek nerd Jackie is
  61. Okay so I started taking notes on which eliminated queen said which of the top three they want to win, but they just showed one vote for each (If you're curious here are my notes: Crystal: Widow; Gigi: Jan; Jaida: Aiden)
  62. I wonder how five lip syncs are working into a three contestant finale
  63. I think this format worked pretty well for the reunion
  64. I was hoping they'd mailed the 'Register to Vote' signs to at least some of them...c'est la vie
  65. I'm curious to see how the finale will work with this format

Starting my parental journey, part 2

You can read part 1 here . Yesterday I began the next step of my parental journey. Ironically, it was starting birth control. This medicine helps prepare my ovaries for the egg retrieval process. It was weird taking the pill to prepare for my fertility journey because you typically think of the pill as ensuring you don't get pregnant. Obviously, I'm not getting pregnant now, but I am getting ready for that eventual possibility. There have also been various bureaucratic issues that I've been dealing with. Mostly insurance stuff (as I'm sure comes as no surprise). But, thanks to a new benefit at work that started 1/1/24, my journey will be (mostly) covered. While, again, there were some bureaucratic hurdles that I had to overcome in order for this to all work out, I am immensely glad that it did work out. I am nervous though. In part I'm nervous about a lot of the practicalities of this step in my journey. For instance, I will have to inject myself with various medica...

15 ways to support me on my parental journey

I posted yesterday and in August, 2023 about starting my parental journey. If you're wondering how you can support me, here are some ideas I have at the moment (though these may change and also don't feel pressured to do any of these things). Check in via text or DM so I can respond at my leisure (but please don't be insulted if I take a long time to respond) Help with arranging food for me (I know that when I get overwhelmed, I often have really awful eating habits) Offer to help with apartment chores (I may turn you down, but the offer will mean a lot) Walk Hoban (I realize only some people can do this, but the relief of lightening the responsibility of Hoban will likely be welcome) Be understanding if I have to cancel plans (I hope to still be somewhat social during this time, but I cannot guarantee how I'm going to feel) Drive me to appointments (I have the retrieval itself covered, but I have other appointments that will happen leading up to it so if you have the...
