Thoughts on RuPaul's Drag Race season 12, episode 11

I got a spoiler that Jaida is going to dress up like Guinan and I'm THRILLED.

  1. "This is RuPauls' Therapy Race"
  2. Heidi should change her name to Heidi Hepiphany
  3. I'm so excited for Whoopi to be a judge
  4. Yay for puppets!
  5. I love how the fabric wall gets a shout out for the puppet challenge
  6. The puppet challenge actually isn't that funny this time around...
  7. I am excited for the one woman show
  8. Yeah no one wants to close the show
  9. This season is difficult because there is a terrible person who is still here, but also I love the other five so I don't want any of them to go home and the terrible person I think makes it to the top so I just have to see a queen I like leave when a predator is still there
  10. Jackie does Star Trek drag? That is amazing
  11. I think Heidi is going to kill this challenge
  12. Okay I don't think memorizing lines is bad for a one woman show...right?
  13. Jaida, as a fellow fast-talker, I feel your pain
  14. God I'm falling more and more in love with Jaida each episode
  15. Jackie, I think this could be very funny but, no, I don't think your mom will like it
  16. Jaida, I didn't know who it was either
  17. Poor Dahlia, she always has to wear that broccoli costume
  18. Jackie did pretty good! I think she actually has the makings of a one woman show
  19. Crystal is very funny, but I have to say what the judges wanted out of the challenge seemed very inconsistent
  20. Oh no, Heidi isn't doing very well
  21. Boy was I wrong about Heidi killing this challenge
  22. I think with more time to practice, Gigi's idea could've been great
  23. My god...where is Bubbles?
  24. Also...how long are these shows?
  25. So the piece of lint is just blatantly breaking the rules
  26. Nooooooooooo Jaida, I love you...please do better
  27. Whoa! This is such a different look for Jackie and I LOVE IT (although I do think of this is a Crystal look)
  28. Crystal, this is very fun
  29. Heidi looks gorgeous
  30. Omg doing Scooby Doo does endear Gigi to me (although I think the look isn't that great)
  31. The piece of lint's designer is incredible
  32. JAIDA AS GUINAN IS AMAZING
  33. I feel like Jackie was about to say something deep, but then it cut
  34. Crystal is delightful
  35. I love that Whoopi told Crystal not to worry about people who think she is weird cause that is who Crystal is
  36. So many people did characters for this runway
  37. The piece of lint is lying, there is no way the lint thought that was five minutes
  38. Telling Heidi to take out two of the characters is advice you could've given Heidi before she performed
  39. Yay for Crystal winning!
  40. Okay so just guessing before it starts, I think Heidi loses the lip sync
  41. God these are two great dancers
  42. And I was correct
  43. Heidi, you will be back for a season of All Stars and have a good chance of winning Miss Congeniality
  44. Looks like a dance heavy challenge next week
  45. I like that we get to see their entrance looks again

Starting my parental journey, part 2

You can read part 1 here . Yesterday I began the next step of my parental journey. Ironically, it was starting birth control. This medicine helps prepare my ovaries for the egg retrieval process. It was weird taking the pill to prepare for my fertility journey because you typically think of the pill as ensuring you don't get pregnant. Obviously, I'm not getting pregnant now, but I am getting ready for that eventual possibility. There have also been various bureaucratic issues that I've been dealing with. Mostly insurance stuff (as I'm sure comes as no surprise). But, thanks to a new benefit at work that started 1/1/24, my journey will be (mostly) covered. While, again, there were some bureaucratic hurdles that I had to overcome in order for this to all work out, I am immensely glad that it did work out. I am nervous though. In part I'm nervous about a lot of the practicalities of this step in my journey. For instance, I will have to inject myself with various medica...

15 ways to support me on my parental journey

I posted yesterday and in August, 2023 about starting my parental journey. If you're wondering how you can support me, here are some ideas I have at the moment (though these may change and also don't feel pressured to do any of these things). Check in via text or DM so I can respond at my leisure (but please don't be insulted if I take a long time to respond) Help with arranging food for me (I know that when I get overwhelmed, I often have really awful eating habits) Offer to help with apartment chores (I may turn you down, but the offer will mean a lot) Walk Hoban (I realize only some people can do this, but the relief of lightening the responsibility of Hoban will likely be welcome) Be understanding if I have to cancel plans (I hope to still be somewhat social during this time, but I cannot guarantee how I'm going to feel) Drive me to appointments (I have the retrieval itself covered, but I have other appointments that will happen leading up to it so if you have the...
