Thoughts on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars season 5, episode 1

I'm so excited for Mayhem to be back.

  1. Oh gosh I also wanted Shea to win her season
  2. Shea, I hate to say it, but I do think winners are decided before the final lip sync (you still should've won your season though)
  3. Miz Cracker was delightful
  4. I have really enjoyed Alexis Mateo and she's Vanjie's mom
  5. I hope Blair has gotten some therapy
  6. I do not remember Mariah that much...but I'm excited to see more
  7. India's entrance was pretty funny and I'm glad she will get a chance to be more than the queen Mimi picked up
  8. Jujubee is adorable and is very memorable
  9. "I am the pussy staircase"
  10. Derrick was memorable for being Britney, but I guess we'll see more this time
  11. MAYHEM!!!
  12. Whoa Ongina's look is stunning
  13. I hope Ongina makes it to Snatch Game because season 1 didn't have one
  14. Ricky Martin is so attractive
  15. Miz Cracker's stress reactions are pretty funny
  16. Thank goodness we have a library challenge this time
  17. Lost Vegas is a solid pun
  18. "RuPaul's Drag Race Some Stars"
  19. Mayhem Filler and Mehem Miller are great puns (but I love Mayhem)
  20. Blair is pretty good at the reads
  21. Wow Derrick's bf sounds like a jerk
  22. 15 impersonations (oh wow that word was hard to spell) in a minute is insane
  23. The casting directors certainly knew about the beef between Derrick and India
  24. I am excited to see the variety show
  25. Ru's look isn't my favorite
  26. I wish I had gotten to see some of the planning of these acts because like did Alexis choreograph her background dancers?
  27. Alexis is an incredible dancer and also clearly has a sense of humor
  28. Shea's legs go for days
  29. Wow Shea can really pole dance
  30. Mayhem, I love you, but that wasn't the best
  31. Mariah got permission to just make a mess
  32. Okay, I love Mariah's piece
  33. Miz Cracker's bit is very fun
  34. Blair has a good voice
  35. Ongina is adorable, but I guess after seeing Alexis dance it's hard to compare
  36. So Derrick really does sound like all of the people she's impersonating, but I think it's the set up that didn't work and we don't get enough time with any impersonation
  37. Holy shit Jujube, I'm getting chills
  38. Holy shit is that wig on good, India
  39. I think this rules shake up is pretty fun
  40. "That phallic entrance was everything"
  41. Shabbat shablam is pretty funny
  42. I didn't think India's was the best...I think Alexis's was the best
  43. I feel like Iceland is such a random trip
  44. I don't want Mayhem to go home already! I hope it's Derrick
  45. I wonder if there will be alliances this season
  46. I love that they made like the hut that people on Survivor go into to vote
  47. Yay it's Yvie!
  48. "Livin' La Vida Loca" is a great song choice
  49. I think Yvie is winning this one
  50. Yes, Yvie!
  51. Holy shit the tip rolls over?
  52. Oh thank goodness Mayhem is safe...I really want her to do better this season
  53. Writing lyrics challenge!
  54. Wait...is Blair writing from the point of view of a fictional serial killer?
  55. Can't wait til next week!

Starting my parental journey, part 2

You can read part 1 here . Yesterday I began the next step of my parental journey. Ironically, it was starting birth control. This medicine helps prepare my ovaries for the egg retrieval process. It was weird taking the pill to prepare for my fertility journey because you typically think of the pill as ensuring you don't get pregnant. Obviously, I'm not getting pregnant now, but I am getting ready for that eventual possibility. There have also been various bureaucratic issues that I've been dealing with. Mostly insurance stuff (as I'm sure comes as no surprise). But, thanks to a new benefit at work that started 1/1/24, my journey will be (mostly) covered. While, again, there were some bureaucratic hurdles that I had to overcome in order for this to all work out, I am immensely glad that it did work out. I am nervous though. In part I'm nervous about a lot of the practicalities of this step in my journey. For instance, I will have to inject myself with various medica...

15 ways to support me on my parental journey

I posted yesterday and in August, 2023 about starting my parental journey. If you're wondering how you can support me, here are some ideas I have at the moment (though these may change and also don't feel pressured to do any of these things). Check in via text or DM so I can respond at my leisure (but please don't be insulted if I take a long time to respond) Help with arranging food for me (I know that when I get overwhelmed, I often have really awful eating habits) Offer to help with apartment chores (I may turn you down, but the offer will mean a lot) Walk Hoban (I realize only some people can do this, but the relief of lightening the responsibility of Hoban will likely be welcome) Be understanding if I have to cancel plans (I hope to still be somewhat social during this time, but I cannot guarantee how I'm going to feel) Drive me to appointments (I have the retrieval itself covered, but I have other appointments that will happen leading up to it so if you have the...
