Thoughts on Canada's Drag Race season 1, episode 2

Onwards on this show that definitely aired a while ago!

  1. I hope Juice Boxx can come back at some point
  2. I can't believe Kyne thinks hers is the best
  3. Of course Ru still does the voice over
  4. Brook Lynn's look is so much better this episode
  5. Wow that was a close up of junk
  6. Gotta love using Nutcracker music because public domain!
  7. Lemon...did you just have that Bjork look?
  8. Kiara, it is in part a dance challenge, but it's also a comedy challenge
  9. Why was Ilona the last picked and not Kyne?
  10. Ilona picks the team with Kyne?
  11. I love acting challenges
  12. Yes, stir the pot Brook Lynn
  13. Gotta love Kyne already making Brook Lynn think less of their team
  14. BOA needs to just take a minute
  15. I'm excited to see this sketch all filmed though
  16. BOA is going to be in trouble
  17. Tynomi also needs to just take a minute
  18. "I got tea bagged by a butch lesbian nurse, that's the best day of my life"
  19. Oh Kyne, I'm so sorry about you losing your dad
  20. Anastarzia Anaquway is so strong
  21. I cannot believe Anastarzia Anaquway drove herself to the hospital after being shot several times
  22. Wow Anastarzia Anaquway came with an asylum bid
  23. I love it when I get to see all the queens be there for each other
  24. Wait who is this guy on Shadow Hunters?
  25. Brook Lynn's look is so much better
  26. Lemon looks beautiful and she does seem to be making it an upscale version of her first look
  27. Rita Baga has such a character
  28. Tynomi looks futuristic and I love it
  29. Kiara does look expensive
  30. Anastarzia Anaquway is a real queen
  31. "The Devil wears nada"
  32. I like Kyne's look but I wish her tights and makeup matched
  33. I'm not sure why Priyanka is walking so slowly...is it the material?
  34. Scarlet Bobo did fire eating!!!
  35. I love Ilona's look
  36. It's cool to see Jimbo do spooky camp
  37. BOA why did you pick this role since it has so many lines?
  38. The voting sketch was fun but not great
  39. Wow I really hate the surgery room...it's more realistic than I'd want
  40. Yeah individual judgment is the way to go on this one
  41. Okay I thought Kyne did well in the acting challenge but I agree that her look isn't the best
  42. I didn't notice Kyne's gap in covering her skin
  43. I don't remember ever getting to hear the clapping this much before
  44. Lemon did do a good job
  45. Kyne's wig is struggling
  46. I'm not finding this the best lip sync
  47. Although I always love a splits so go Tynomi
  48. Kyne is doing the lip sync a bit angry I felt
  49. Aw I liked that moment between Kyne and Tynomi
  50. Kyne was right...she's going home
  51. Kyne is having a very graceful exit
  52. Kyne's makeup closeup looks so much cooler
  53. Oh man a singing and dancing competition
  54. I love the judges' looks for next time
  55. Excited to keep watching!

Starting my parental journey, part 2

You can read part 1 here . Yesterday I began the next step of my parental journey. Ironically, it was starting birth control. This medicine helps prepare my ovaries for the egg retrieval process. It was weird taking the pill to prepare for my fertility journey because you typically think of the pill as ensuring you don't get pregnant. Obviously, I'm not getting pregnant now, but I am getting ready for that eventual possibility. There have also been various bureaucratic issues that I've been dealing with. Mostly insurance stuff (as I'm sure comes as no surprise). But, thanks to a new benefit at work that started 1/1/24, my journey will be (mostly) covered. While, again, there were some bureaucratic hurdles that I had to overcome in order for this to all work out, I am immensely glad that it did work out. I am nervous though. In part I'm nervous about a lot of the practicalities of this step in my journey. For instance, I will have to inject myself with various medica...

15 ways to support me on my parental journey

I posted yesterday and in August, 2023 about starting my parental journey. If you're wondering how you can support me, here are some ideas I have at the moment (though these may change and also don't feel pressured to do any of these things). Check in via text or DM so I can respond at my leisure (but please don't be insulted if I take a long time to respond) Help with arranging food for me (I know that when I get overwhelmed, I often have really awful eating habits) Offer to help with apartment chores (I may turn you down, but the offer will mean a lot) Walk Hoban (I realize only some people can do this, but the relief of lightening the responsibility of Hoban will likely be welcome) Be understanding if I have to cancel plans (I hope to still be somewhat social during this time, but I cannot guarantee how I'm going to feel) Drive me to appointments (I have the retrieval itself covered, but I have other appointments that will happen leading up to it so if you have the...
