Thoughts on RuPaul's Drag Race season 13, episode 3

NICOLE BYER!!!
  1. I wonder if the winners' circle will have to vote one person out
  2. Someone better go home today tbh
  3. I remember so few of these queens' names...my attention span is short
  4. I think they'll be reunited by Snatch Game
  5. I love Ru's suit
  6. I love that Ru apologized for tugging them around but then was like "but really it's nbd cause you've been through worse"
  7. So it's called Lady and the Vamp this time (yes, it is a slightly different prompt but the idea was a ladylike day look and a vampy night look)
  8. "Sis, we're on Drag Race. It's not called Drag Walk."
  9. Kahmora, how did you miss being called?
  10. I like Denali's tights, but I'm not really a fan of the rest of the look
  11. Joey Jay is really owning her look but I don't like the boots
  12. Rosé's look is great, but the bag looks messy until you see it with the rest of her name
  13. Tamisha is a vision
  14. Utica's look is fun and clowny
  15. I love when Ru loses it at a pun or joke
  16. Kahmora looks regal
  17. Denali looks both historic and futuristic, which I really like
  18. Joey Jay looks so sexy
  19. Rosé's mask/hat combo made me say 'whoa'
  20. Tamisha does show off Elvira inspiration but also added some more movement with the hair
  21. Kahmora's look feels a bit simple to me...like if she added something that looked like blood on her face or fingers I think it would've taken it farther
  22. Utica looks right out of a movie and I love her makeup
  23. The runway minis are huge challenges
  24. I didn't realize Tamisha was 49
  25. Time for the classic "make content for me" challenge
  26. Aha so Rosé is a singer
  27. "I'm not a singer or a rapper, but I'm gay so I'm gonna run with it"
  28. Wait do they really only have 60 minutes to choreograph?
  29. There are too many choreographers on the dance floor
  30. Tamisha provides great commentary
  31. Kahmora, it sounds like your boyfriend isn't supportive
  32. Ru looks like a Barbie and I love it
  33. NICOLE BYER
  34. The fans with fabric are great
  35. This one seems to have much more even distribution of time for the queens than the winners' circle
  36. I love Denali's hair, but I don't like her dress
  37. Joey Jay really owns her looks and looks so sexy
  38. Kahmora looks fae
  39. Rosé's look is just really not for me
  40. Tamisha looks gorgeous
  41. I want Utica to twirl because the movement is great
  42. Nicole bonds with Rosé over being slutty and I love it
  43. I like Joey Jay's hair
  44. "You look rich, I would rob you," Nicole is iconic
  45. I can see the point that Kahmora's personality isn't coming through
  46. TAMISHA MADE HER DRESS??? She's so talented
  47. I missed Utica talking about her savior
  48. I don't think Utica's look was simple
  49. Now we'll see if someone is actually going to go home this episode
  50. So just no one is going home ever
  51. I am glad that we get to see Denali lip sync in an outfit she can actually lip sync in
  52. Denali's style is my preferred for this lip sync (somehow comedy--Rosé's style--doesn't jive with me and this song)
  53. Oh wow do the queens reunite permanently next week?
  54. OMG I love them doing holiday movies
  55. Can't wait!

Starting my parental journey, part 2

You can read part 1 here . Yesterday I began the next step of my parental journey. Ironically, it was starting birth control. This medicine helps prepare my ovaries for the egg retrieval process. It was weird taking the pill to prepare for my fertility journey because you typically think of the pill as ensuring you don't get pregnant. Obviously, I'm not getting pregnant now, but I am getting ready for that eventual possibility. There have also been various bureaucratic issues that I've been dealing with. Mostly insurance stuff (as I'm sure comes as no surprise). But, thanks to a new benefit at work that started 1/1/24, my journey will be (mostly) covered. While, again, there were some bureaucratic hurdles that I had to overcome in order for this to all work out, I am immensely glad that it did work out. I am nervous though. In part I'm nervous about a lot of the practicalities of this step in my journey. For instance, I will have to inject myself with various medica...

15 ways to support me on my parental journey

I posted yesterday and in August, 2023 about starting my parental journey. If you're wondering how you can support me, here are some ideas I have at the moment (though these may change and also don't feel pressured to do any of these things). Check in via text or DM so I can respond at my leisure (but please don't be insulted if I take a long time to respond) Help with arranging food for me (I know that when I get overwhelmed, I often have really awful eating habits) Offer to help with apartment chores (I may turn you down, but the offer will mean a lot) Walk Hoban (I realize only some people can do this, but the relief of lightening the responsibility of Hoban will likely be welcome) Be understanding if I have to cancel plans (I hope to still be somewhat social during this time, but I cannot guarantee how I'm going to feel) Drive me to appointments (I have the retrieval itself covered, but I have other appointments that will happen leading up to it so if you have the...
