And still another 15 minutes of D&D brainstorming

I have another session coming up on Friday! I don't think my party reads my blog. If you do--STOP IT!

  • Hints for second room
    • There is only one door you need to open
    • Think of what kind of question may lead you to a song these kinds of guards would know
    • Examine the words carved in the other door (DC 10 to find woolen fluff in them and then DC 15 to see small worn areas in blanket the scholar is using). No fluff found in the word knowledge.
  • Third room:
    • More rows of chained books shelves. In this room there is no light. Need to find a way to see.
      • Random book generator
      • Roll D20 to find language. 1-16 as listed here. 17 and 18 are Common. 19 and 20 are Elven.
    • There is a large ornate mirror across from the staircase. In the light it is blood red. It shows the room as it is, but the gem is at the bottom of the pedestal. The gem must be placed there and have the blood smeared on it in order to be destroyed. The duplicates can't be called forth until it's placed in the right spot. The duplicates emerge out of the mirror.
    • A large blood red gem stands on a pedestal in the center of the room
      • Rune of Confusion surrounding the pedestal: DC 15 to find, DC 15 to disable; affects all targets within 10 ft., DC 15 save or become confused for 1 hour
      • Under the gem is a note: The key is found within a royal's head, use a prick to paint me red, be aware of what you spurn, for what you give shall be returned.
        • A duplicate of whoever puts the blood down will need to be fought. Once destroyed, the gem is destroyed and the curse is lifted.
    • Door to top level and lighthouse: The door is filled with holes about the size of a dagger blade. When a dagger is inserted into a hole, it makes a specific and unique tone. You have to play the first bar of the national anthem to enter. Royal blood also opens it.
  • Lighthouse level:
    • There is no light on at the moment. It's a magical light that knows when it needs to be on so someone just stays with it to look out for ships and raise alarms if need be.
    • One guard at the lighthouse level sleeping in her bed roll. She has basic supplies with her:
      • Longsword, 10 silver, a map of the area, a bottle of ink, an ink pen, a lamp, 2 flasks of oil, 5 sheets of paper, a vial of perfume, sealing wax, and soap, studded leather.
  • Scholar
    • She's a beautiful Elven woman with long flowing blonde hair and delicate features.
    • Daeven
    • Intelligent, arrogant, loyal to queen Mileyth (knew plan, guards knew that the queen ordered them to sleep but not details)
    • Will talk down to the adventurers
    • Will be somewhat impressed though that they managed to get through everything without having been told how
    • Will be suspicious of them if they mention Durogark
    • She is willing to tell the adventurers what has happened, but only away from the guards
  • The coast is a refreshing sight after spending time in the dark. Waves splash quietly on the sandy shore, the sounds of gulls overhead give the sky life. The sweet smell of seaweed washes over you, invigorating your sense of adventure.

Starting my parental journey, part 9

You can  read part 1 here ,  read part 2 here ,  read part 3 here ,  read part 4 here ,  read part 5 here ,  read part 6 here ,  read part 7 here , and read part 8 here . I've officially begun my second cycle. On Wednesday, I had a virtual appointment, yesterday I had my baseline ultrasound, and today I began injections again. On Wednesday, I expressed my concern about my weight and was told not to fret about it for this cycle but that I should work on it for my health. I got told some vague things about measuring my food by volume and weight and that being the key the weight loss (idk it sounded weird to me). But other than that my appointment went well and I really liked the PA I met with. Overall, she was supportive and encouraging me to advocate for myself. Yesterday, I had to get up earlier than normal (6am) so I could make it to my ultrasound at 7am (I have asked for future ultrasounds to be at 8am). I got weighed (ugh), had my blood drawn, and t...

15 facts about my dad

Just been thinking about some lighthearted facts I know about my dad lately. When he was young, he had a goldfish named Lysander He introduced me to Star Trek At Christmas, he would tear up at It's a Wonderful Life He used to send me articles from his Yahoo email account that he thought I'd like We used to play a game called "Nightmare" where he would lie down and we'd jump around (and sometimes on) him He would clip possible recipes for us to try out of newspapers and magazines We bought him a Paddington Bear to take on trips because we feared he'd be lonely and he always took it He had teddy bears for three different holidays We once had such a hilariously difficult time building a gingerbread house that when some frosting ended up on the counter, I plopped a gumdrop on it and we laughed until we cried He and his sister were born about 11 months apart We would try recipes from Top Chef He kept gifts I made him, even when they weren't great At Christmas, ...
