These are mostly based on my experience and, to be fair, none of them work 100% of the time.
- Talk to a loved one
- Sit in a dark, quiet room for a few minutes
- Breathe deeply
- Ask yourself, how likely what you fear actually is
- Ask yourself what you'd tell a loved one who came to you with this anxious thought
- Ask yourself if something has triggered this thought
- Stretch
- Get under a weighted blanket
- Get a hug
- Scratch your head gently
- Give yourself a massage
- Put on lotion
- Drink either a cool or warm drink
- Go for a walk
- Listen to rain sounds
