Always a good question!
- Look at books by the last author you enjoyed
- Go to a local bookstore and look at staff recs
- Go to a local bookstore and ask for a recommendation based on the last book you enjoyed
- Go to a local bookstore and browse covers you like (yes, you can judge a book by its cover)
- Ask for advice on Twitter (Penguin Random House gives out recs for example)
- Check out the bestseller lists in areas you enjoy (sometimes things are popular for a reason!)
- See if a series you enjoyed has a new installment or spinoff
- Check out what favorite childhood authors have written (often they've expanded their range)
- Think about what you want to learn about and look at books in that subject
- Look through libro.fm recs
- Try and hunt down what books your favorite authors have rec'ed/blurbed
- See recommended books on your public library's app and/or website
- Was there a classic you always meant to read? See if you can get an audiobook of it for free (librivox, libby, hoopla)
- Dip into graphic novels
- Read in grade levels below you (there are still many delightful stories in YA and middle read!)
