15 things I love about the found family trope

Original prompt: write about the found family trope (in general, or about a specific show).

  1. I find it accessible in the sense that not everyone has a great relationship with their biological family, but everyone can build a chosen family
  2. Misfits finding comfort speaks to the parts of me that felt like a misfit at times in my life
  3. I highly value my friends in real life and like to see that reflected in fiction
  4. Found families can take so many different forms
  5. I often like representations of love that are platonic (though, yes, there are often romances within a found family)
  6. It's heartening to see characters find love they haven't found elsewhere
  7. I find group dynamics really interesting
  8. A solid community is something I aspire to (though, I think I have it)
  9. I find a strong ensemble cast more dynamic (though, yes, found family can be just two characters)
  10. It happens a lot in genre fiction, which I tend to prefer (though I suppose it could happen in other fiction, but I wouldn't really know)
  11. Character relationships often drive plotlines for me
  12. It can bring together different types of characters (in regards to backgrounds, ages, etc.)
  13. Some of my favorite shows have this trope and so I have fond associations with it
  14. I like making found families in the Sims
  15. It provides great group costume opportunities

15 facts about my dad

Just been thinking about some lighthearted facts I know about my dad lately.
