A letter from Rivulet Brook, #1

So with the blessing of my DM, I am going to be writing letters home from my D&D character Rivulet Brooks. Here is the first one!

Dear Glarmet,

Not sure when this letter will find you as I know you are often sailing, but it may be even longer before you can reach me these days. You have likely already heard from our friends at the temple, but I have taken up with a party of adventurers and left Goa. I am sorry that we did not get a chance to say goodbye, but I do believe Geshtai will ensure that our paths cross again one day. Until then, perhaps letters will serve our friendship well.

I have done and seen quite a lot in my time away from Goa. I hope I can tell you more over a drink or a boat ride sometime, but I must be brief for we are headed for Hart's Crossing (perhaps try and send a missive there--write that I am a member of the Wandering Wyverns). I do feel like I might be closer to finding my true purpose in this life.

Before I depart, I wanted to write and ask what you knew of the dwath'jafar. During my travels a dwarf named Bun'varr approached me and said I appeared to be a member of the dwath'jafar--a culture of seafaring dwarves. I always thought I was just a water genasi, but perhaps the dwath'jafar hold a key to my past. I would be grateful for any information on the dwath'jafar that you have and if you think I could somehow be a part of them.

As always, please let me know what gossip you hear along the rivers, and give my love to our friends. I would love to hear any news, big or small, about them. Has Errel finally begun to court Sapphira? Perhaps my meddling was not helping that situation.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Love,

Rivulet

(Prompt by me but with blessings from my DM)

15 facts about my dad

Just been thinking about some lighthearted facts I know about my dad lately. When he was young, he had a goldfish named Lysander He introduced me to Star Trek At Christmas, he would tear up at It's a Wonderful Life He used to send me articles from his Yahoo email account that he thought I'd like We used to play a game called "Nightmare" where he would lie down and we'd jump around (and sometimes on) him He would clip possible recipes for us to try out of newspapers and magazines We bought him a Paddington Bear to take on trips because we feared he'd be lonely and he always took it He had teddy bears for three different holidays We once had such a hilariously difficult time building a gingerbread house that when some frosting ended up on the counter, I plopped a gumdrop on it and we laughed until we cried He and his sister were born about 11 months apart We would try recipes from Top Chef He kept gifts I made him, even when they weren't great At Christmas, ...
