Thoughts on RuPaul's Drag Race, season 17, episode 6

Time for a ball!

  1. Okay, I really do think producers told Arrietty which lever to pull
  2. The shot of Ru through Ru's mouth got me good
  3. Hilarious challenge
  4. Ru is just stirring the pot and messing with the queens' heads
  5. Sam's godfather is Charles Barkley???
  6. Lexi is so funny (to be clear, this was written BEFORE her finding her outfit)
  7. Oh no!!!
  8. WOW!
  9. Time to judge the "Bathing Beauties" category
  10. I liked Crystal's Barbie looks
  11. Jewels's look is not my favorite
  12. Lydia's look is also not my favorite
  13. Sam looks cute, but I won't remember this
  14. Onya looks beautiful
  15. Arrietty looks incredible
  16. Suzie is campy and I really enjoy it
  17. Gotta love Kori's left shark reference
  18. Acacia is cute
  19. So Lexi is beautiful, but I wish her "crabs" were bigger
  20. Hormona is adroable
  21. Lana is beyond gorgeous, but this look is one I won't remember
  22. Time to judge the "Sea Creature Couture" category
  23. Crystal's look is awesome
  24. Jewels looks fabulous
  25. So I love the idea of Lydia's look, but it wasn't executed the best IMO
  26. Sam's look is very cool
  27. Onya's silhouette is so dynamic
  28. Arrietty looks divine
  29. Suzie looks so fun (especially her hair)
  30. Kori is beautiful, but this outfit is kind of eating her up
  31. Acacia's idea was great, but the execution wasn't my favorite
  32. Lexi really looks "of the sea"
  33. Hormona's look doesn't scream her sea dragon inspiration enough for me
  34. Lana looks bad ass
  35. Time to judge the "Sea Sickening Eleganza" category
  36. Crystal...why'd you do petals for an under the sea entrance? Also, boy can she not walk in this. That said, it's pretty impressive
  37. Jewels looks great
  38. I feel like Lydia had a great idea, but again the execution is lacking
  39. Sam's look is so big that I have to love it
  40. Onya looks great and wow can she sell a garment
  41. Arrietty is a wow
  42. Oof I don't really like Suzie's look
  43. Kori's hair and makeup is incredible, but the outfit is not working for me
  44. Acacia's look is cool IMO
  45. Like with Kori, Lexi's hair and makeup is great, but the outfit is not my favorite
  46. Hormona's look is not working for me
  47. Like with Kori and Lexi, Lana's hair and makeup is so well done, but the outfit leaves something to be desired
  48. What is happening in this judging?
  49. Yes, Arrietty NEEDED to win the ball
  50. I think Lana won that
  51. ...and she did
  52. "That's the way the cookie shakes"
  53. Next time is Snatch Game!
  54. Next time Quinta Brunson is there!
  55. Can't wait!

I've officially begun my second cycle. On Wednesday, I had a virtual appointment, yesterday I had my baseline ultrasound, and today I began injections again. On Wednesday, I expressed my concern about my weight and was told not to fret about it for this cycle but that I should work on it for my health. I got told some vague things about measuring my food by volume and weight and that being the key the weight loss (idk it sounded weird to me). But other than that my appointment went well and I really liked the PA I met with. Overall, she was supportive and encouraging me to advocate for myself. Yesterday, I had to get up earlier than normal (6am) so I could make it to my ultrasound at 7am (I have asked for future ultrasounds to be at 8am). I got weighed (ugh), had my blood drawn, and t...

Now, that may sound like I'm bailing out of my fertility journey, but it's actually the opposite. In order to get everything ready for the egg retrieval, I need to hop on birth control for a little bit and then hop off. It feels a bit odd to be taking oral birth control, have a birth control arm implant, and be getting ready for an egg retrieval--but that's how it goes (for me at least--getting to keep the arm implant is rare or so I'm told). People have asked me how I'm feeling about this round of egg retrieval and honestly, I haven't thought about it much yet. I am focused on a big stressful event for work and then C2E2 (Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo--basically, Chicago's Comic-Con) which I attend every year. Because of these two events (one stressful, one fun), I del...
