The Empire Strips Back: A Burlesque Parody is a burlesque Star Wars  parody that I saw with a couple of friends. Overall, I had a good time There was a bit too much male gaze/jokes for me at times The host's bits were too long I didn't love that they used a Biggie song for Jabba the Hutt (and kept the n word in it) My favorite act was probably "Wrecking Ball" with naked Emperor Palpatine My second favorite was the very first with the tauntaun There should've been more male acts I had the most fun with acts where I knew the song The act referred to as "The Twins" was one of my least favorites (probably because it was a slow number) I think I was often taken out of the moment because I chose a seat so far back I did not like it when the lights shone directly in my eyes I wish the bars sold snacks Sometimes, I didn't think the music super fit the act It made me want to learn to dance better but also activated some body image issues There was an impress...

Just some disconnected musings about the first three seasons of Southern Hospitality. Well well well, Maddi and Joe are finally together Maddi being sober in this environment especially is so impressive (though I do worry for her) Wow are the women prettier than the men (as a whole) Emmy, get thee to therapy Will looks like he's 12 How successful is this show compared to Vanderpump Rules after three seasons? Some of the cast just shouldn't be on the show based on their reactions to it Leva could stand to be in the show more Grace Lily is so chaotic but such good TV How did they pick which members of their staff would be on the show? Here are some short pieces based on things that have happened in my life recently. Mangoes I have eight mangoes waiting to ripen. I love mangoes. I happily eat them messily, scraping what I can from the seeds and wiping my lips and cheeks free of the excess juice. But they have not ripened. They have gotten a little softer, but they are still firm. I bought them for me to eat, and yet they aren't ready. Will they be ready on a timeline that works for me? I don't know.  Will I catch them between being ripe and being rotten? I hope so. For now, I wait. Painting I picked out a painting that belonged to my father to hang in my own home. It is the one that makes me think most of him. But I don't know where to hang it. I think I have a spot picked out, but I'll have to move some other artwork. That's not a problem, but somehow I don't have the motivation to make the switch.  Maybe because it seems somewhat final. Maybe because I fear having the reminder up in my home....
