15 characters from a book or movie I would like to meet (and why)

Original prompt: Which character from a book or movie would you most like to meet, and why? These are in no particular order.

  1. Penelope Featherington/Bridgerton from the Bridgerton book series by Julia Quinn (how did she get so bold with her writing?)
  2. Parker from the Leverage book--and TV--series by various authors (honestly, I'd love her to teach me how to lockpick and dodge lasers--not to really steal, but just like as a party trick)
  3. Persephone from the Lore Olympus series by Rachel Smythe (I want to give her a hug and talk to her about the balance of power and sweetness)
  4. Nimona from Nimona by ND Stevenson (Nimona is just so cool)
  5. Katie from The Hallowed Ones duology by Laura Bickle (I would love to discuss faith, love, and what it means to be human with her)
  6. Carmilla from Carmilla by Sheridan Le Fanu (this is assuming I can't be turned into a vampire, but I'd love to do an Interview with the Vampire-style interview with her)
  7. Belle from A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens (How did she and Scrooge meet (NB: many movie adaptations have them meeting at Fezziwig's party, but that does not happen in the book)? What did she learn from their relationship? How did she react to his changed demeanor after the events of the book (did she even know?)?)
  8. Hercule Poirot from the Hercule Poirot book series by Agatha Christie (I would especially want to talk with him about grappling with the decision that he made at the end of Murder on the Orient Express)
  9. Olive from Little Miss Sunshine (2006), directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris (I'd love to discuss family and what she learned from her family road trip depicted in the movie)
  10. Mulan from Mulan (1998), directed by Barry Cook and Tony Bancroft (I admire her and want to talk to her about bravery, family expectations, and love)
  11. Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), directed by Henry Selick (I want her Halloween tips and tricks!)
  12. Kate Baker from Cheaper by the Dozen (2003), directed by Shawn Levy (I bet she has great tips for how to manage a household)
  13. Princess Fiona from Shrek (2001), directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson (she is a badass and learned to accept herself)
  14. Kaywinnet Lee "Kaylee" Frye from Serenity (2005), directed by Joss Whedon (she is bubbly and somewhat innocent but owns her sexuality and also could probably teach me how to fix most things)
  15. Stereotypical Barbie from Barbie (2023), directed by Greta Gerwig (I'd love to discuss her realizations and choice to become a woman instead of a toy)

15 facts about my dad

Just been thinking about some lighthearted facts I know about my dad lately. When he was young, he had a goldfish named Lysander He introduced me to Star Trek At Christmas, he would tear up at It's a Wonderful Life He used to send me articles from his Yahoo email account that he thought I'd like We used to play a game called "Nightmare" where he would lie down and we'd jump around (and sometimes on) him He would clip possible recipes for us to try out of newspapers and magazines We bought him a Paddington Bear to take on trips because we feared he'd be lonely and he always took it He had teddy bears for three different holidays We once had such a hilariously difficult time building a gingerbread house that when some frosting ended up on the counter, I plopped a gumdrop on it and we laughed until we cried He and his sister were born about 11 months apart We would try recipes from Top Chef He kept gifts I made him, even when they weren't great At Christmas, ...
