15 monsters and races that I'd want to include in my D&D campaign

No matter what, I'd like to work these in. Any I'm missing that are super fun?

  1. Oblex: "an extraordinarily intelligent ooze created by mind flayers that fed on other creatures' memories. They were capable of using those memories to create replicas of their victims, which they used to further hunt and feed." - The Forgotten Realms Wiki
  2. Kenku: "Haunted by an ancient crime that robbed them of their wings, kenku wander the world as vagabonds and burglars who live at the edge of human society." - D&D Beyond
  3. Changeling: "A changeling can shift its face and form with a thought as a form of artistic and emotional expression." - D&D Beyond
  4. Shifter: "humanoids with a bestial aspect." - D&D Beyond
  5. Loxodon: "Humanoid elephants, loxodons are strong, calm, and wise." - D&D Beyond
  6. Abyssal chicken: "Abyssal chickens were small creatures. They had leather wings but were not capable of sustained flight. Their wings were folded above them, giving them a tear-shaped appearance. They had a large mouth filled with fangs and a long tongue. Abyssal chickens' primary form of locomotion was their two large legs, which ended in feet resembling those of a regular chicken. Each foot had three large claws." - The Forgotten Realms Wiki
  7. Awakened tree: "an ordinary tree given sentience and mobility by the Awaken spell or similar magic." - Roll 20
  8. Dryad: "fey-maidens who acted as the protectors of forests and trees." - The Forgotten Realms Wiki
  9. Flumph: "A flumph's body was shaped like a flat saucer with a diameter slightly larger than a human from shoulder to shoulder, and about as thick as a human arm. Flumphs floated by means of an innate anti-gravity field,[7] and moved by using air jets as propulsion. In fact, they were named after the characteristic sound made by these jets. Flumphs also glowed faintly in different colors depending on their mood" - The Forgotten Realms Wiki
  10. Gelatinous cube: "a ten-foot cube of transparent gelatinous ooze, which is able to absorb and digest organic matter." - Wiki
  11. Merfolk: "Merfolk are an amphibious race, born and at home in the water but comfortable on dry land. Humanoid in form, they have skin of ivory, silver, russet, blue, or deep purple. Long fins extend from the backs of their forearms and calves, and their fingers and toes are webbed. The hairlike growths on their heads are either thick and bristly like the needles of a sea urchin, or long and wavy, resembling fine seaweed. In either case, these growths typically range in color from red to warm brown to black. Male merfolk have similar growths extending down from their cheekbones." - D&D 5e Wiki
  12. Ochre jelly: "ochre jelly resembles a giant amoeba, consisting of a thick, porous, golden sludge. It lurks in dungeons, slowly sludging its way along floors, walls and ceilings alike, under doors and through cracks, looking for victims. When it finds them, it extends, latches onto them, and then proceeds to engulf and constrict them. The ochre jelly reproduces asexually, and can sometimes be found with several of its divided offspring. They cannot speak, and are neutral in alignment." - Wiki
  13. Plesiosaurus: "This predatory marine reptile and cousin to the dinosaurs attacks any creature it encounters. Its long, flexible neck lets it twist in any direction to deliver a powerful bite." - Aide D&D
  14. Rug of smothering: "an animated carpet capable of smothering other creatures to death." - Critical Role Wiki
  15. Will-o'-wisp: " malicious creatures that appeared as torches or lanterns seen floating through swamps." - The Forgotten Realms Wiki

I've officially begun my second cycle. On Wednesday, I had a virtual appointment, yesterday I had my baseline ultrasound, and today I began injections again. On Wednesday, I expressed my concern about my weight and was told not to fret about it for this cycle but that I should work on it for my health. I got told some vague things about measuring my food by volume and weight and that being the key the weight loss (idk it sounded weird to me). But other than that my appointment went well and I really liked the PA I met with. Overall, she was supportive and encouraging me to advocate for myself. Yesterday, I had to get up earlier than normal (6am) so I could make it to my ultrasound at 7am (I have asked for future ultrasounds to be at 8am). I got weighed (ugh), had my blood drawn, and t...

Starting my parental journey, part 8

Now, that may sound like I'm bailing out of my fertility journey, but it's actually the opposite. In order to get everything ready for the egg retrieval, I need to hop on birth control for a little bit and then hop off. It feels a bit odd to be taking oral birth control, have a birth control arm implant, and be getting ready for an egg retrieval--but that's how it goes (for me at least--getting to keep the arm implant is rare or so I'm told). People have asked me how I'm feeling about this round of egg retrieval and honestly, I haven't thought about it much yet. I am focused on a big stressful event for work and then C2E2 (Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo--basically, Chicago's Comic-Con) which I attend every year. Because of these two events (one stressful, one fun), I del...
