We could all use a little dose of summer now.
The smell of sunscreen
Brings me to the feel of warmth
On my slatered skin.
Freckles bloom and glow
As the sunlight empowers
And brightens the world.
Damp, cool grittiness
Has never been so welcome
As it's in summer.
Light glints off the sea
But shades protect squinting eyes
From hating the show.
Cicada chorus
Balmy nights with fireflies
Fresh and sweet berries.
