I am always looking for excuses to send cards. You can read part 1 here and read part 2 here. Many of these were found on the National Day Calendar website

  1. National Pen Pal Day (I could try and drum up some new pen pals, also it's apparently June 1st)
  2. National Megalodon Day (I just love that this exists, also it's apparently June 15th)
  3. National Postage Stamp Day (I could get some really fun stamps, also it's apparently July 1st)
  4. National Coloring Book Day (I could get color-in cards, also it's apparently August 2nd)
  5. National Friendship Day (I love showing my love through cards, also it's apparently the first Sunday in August)
  6. National Book Lovers Day (I could give everyone a book recommendation, also it's apparently August 9th)
  7. National Tell a Joke Day (I could send everyone a joke, also it's apparently August 16th)
  8. National Just Because Day (I mean...how perfect for this post? Also, it's apparently August 27th)
  9. National Swap Ideas Day (brainstorm via mail! Also, it's apparently September 10th)
  10. Talk like a Pirate Day (there HAVE to be some fun cards for this, also it's apparently September 19th)
  11. National Girls' Night (another time to appreciate the ladies in my life, also it's apparently September 22nd)
  12. Hobbit Day (gotta love some LOTR, also it's apparently also September 22nd)
  13. National One Hit Wonder Day (I could send one hit wonder recommendations to all, also it's apparently September 25th)
  14. Save Your Photos Day (I could make cards out of photos and send them, also it's apparently the last Saturday in September)
  15. National Voter Registration Day (I could send cards to potential voters, also it's apparently vaguely in September but changes annually)

15 facts about my dad

Just been thinking about some lighthearted facts I know about my dad lately. When he was young, he had a goldfish named Lysander He introduced me to Star Trek At Christmas, he would tear up at It's a Wonderful Life He used to send me articles from his Yahoo email account that he thought I'd like We used to play a game called "Nightmare" where he would lie down and we'd jump around (and sometimes on) him He would clip possible recipes for us to try out of newspapers and magazines We bought him a Paddington Bear to take on trips because we feared he'd be lonely and he always took it He had teddy bears for three different holidays We once had such a hilariously difficult time building a gingerbread house that when some frosting ended up on the counter, I plopped a gumdrop on it and we laughed until we cried He and his sister were born about 11 months apart We would try recipes from Top Chef He kept gifts I made him, even when they weren't great At Christmas, ...
