Just been thinking about some lighthearted facts I know about my dad. You can read "15 facts about my dad" here.

  1. He took piano lessons as a kid
  2. He sang in the church choir as a boy in Tennessee
  3. He had more than one glass pyramid home for tiny shrimp
  4. He had several lava lamps as I grew up
  5. He commissioned art based on a photo he took of the reflection of sun setting on his apartment building's windows
  6. He took me to see a live alligator at some sort of animal show
  7. He liked Turkish Delight
  8. He loved my grandma Helen's mac and cheese recipe (although he and I modified it to include more bread crumbs)
  9. He made my brohter and me tuna spaghetti pretty much once a week (though the exact origin of the recipe is forgotten beyond "found it in a magazine")
  10. He took my brother and me to a sleepover at the Field Museum (we slept by the totem poles)
  11. He took my brohter fishing and I was super jealous
  12. My grandpa Mischa used to buy him books consistently as gifts
  13. My brother wrote post-it note reminders to encourage our dad to vote
  14. My brother and my dad, for a time, had an ongoing bet about whether climate change was real
  15. We made pesto pasta with roasted fingerling potatoes and peas
