A letter from Rivulet Brook, #3

So with the blessing of my DM, I am going to be writing letters home from my D&D character Rivulet Brook. Here is the third one! You can read Rivulet's first letter here and read Rivulet's second letter here

Dear Titalia,

I know you may be surprised to hear from me, but I hope this letter brings with it the love I have for you and the appreciation I have for you for the hand you played in raising me.

I find myself farther from civilization or a holy site than I had ever imagined. Yet, perhaps, I am at a holy site. I am at one of an oases in the outlands where their worship focuses on Melora. I don't believe you ever spoke to me of places like this, but perhaps I was just a child who wouldn't listen.

I write to you now, honestly, in hopes that it will bring me some sort of peace or blessing from you and Melora. Tomorrow the oasis keeper here says we are to face a test and that the goddess has called us here for a greater purpose. While I had wished for a greater purpose, I did not think I would find one by leaving Goa with strangers, but perhaps this is the path the gods have for me.

When next we meet, I look forward to seeking your counsel on personal and religious matters. For now, I suggest the religious leaders of Goa meet and stay strong together against suspicious folks spouting odd ideas. If I didn't desperately need a rest, I'd write more. Speak to Kyrie, I wrote to her as well.

May this letter be a blessing to us both.

Love,

Rivulet

(Prompt by me but with blessings from my DM)

I'm angry

I'm angry. And I don't (at the moment) want to be talked out of it. I struggle, often, with expressing or even just sitting with my emotions. I feel like even the photo I chose for this post was more reserved or toned down than how I feel.  But, this is my trying. I'm not going to time this post, just going to write until I feel done, whenever that may be. In this post, I'm going to focus on the anger I feel around my dad and my dad's death. Though, don't get me wrong, I'm also angry about a lot of things going on in my city, in my country, and in the world. My dad chose alcohol over me and my brother. There is no way around this fact. Yes, when I am less angry, I can be more reasonabl and recognize that addiction is a disesase and he didn't have control over it. But, right now, I want to be angry. I want to get to be angry. I want to get to feel my feelings. I don't want to rationalize, I don't want to be reasonable, I don't want to be fair....
