Brain not braining

I have been sitting here (the day before this is posted) trying to think of something to write and I'm just not thinking of anything.

I try to do work and my brain just goes "nope" and bails out.

I pick up a book, open it, and close it again.

So, I deided to write just about an empty mind. Perhaps that's odd, but, c'est la vie, this will be a an odd post.

I have to fight clicking away to other tabs to just check if there are notifications in case there is something to distract me (hey, message or text me!). Okay, admittedly I am clicking away, but I try hard to click back and keep going.

Suddenly I feel a bit nauseated (dunno why, but this happens to me sometimes). I'm trying to fight through it because I hate throwing up. But I don't always succeed in this endeavor.

I hope people like the photo I chose for this post. I thought it was appropriate because the pecans look like they're brains, but they're not brains--which is how my brain currently feels.

I've decorated for Halloween but it doesn't feel like enough. How do you effectivley turn an apartment spoopy/spooky? I think finding hte right thing to play on TV would be key. What should be on there? Something atmospheric.

Wow this is really all over the place, but this is just what my brain is doing right now.

I'm getting some earrings fixed today, so that's great. They're pumpkin earrings that I adore so I'm grateful to my neighborhood's Buy Nothing group that I could find someone to adjust them (the Etsy seller is like in Lithuania so sending back to them would be quite difficult).

Oh right, I could've done a snippets post. Wow that's how much my brain isn't braining right now. Well, next time, I'm too far into this to change now.

I also want to start my novel idea where people made up a cryptid, but I just haven't had the inspiration to do it. But, I recently heard an author say that you can't wait for inspiration to strike, you just have to go for it. so, mabye I'll do that.

Maybe I'll go on a walk with Hoban soon. It's close enough to lunch time that I could make it work.

Oh the earrings thing made me think of another earring story. I lost one of my cowboy ghost earrings recently and I'm so bummed. I loved wearing them last year for Halloween and I've been trying to dress in Halloween-y garb recently, so I wore them. But I lost one! I've ordred new ones, but they won't arrive until after Halloween (sigh).

I should order Halloween candy. For my party. I don't get trick-or-treaters.

Now there is construction outside and it's even more difficult to focus. And now Hoban is demanding attention.

Guess I'll wrap up.

Sorry this was such a ramble, but, again, brain not braining!

15 facts about my dad

Just been thinking about some lighthearted facts I know about my dad lately. When he was young, he had a goldfish named Lysander He introduced me to Star Trek At Christmas, he would tear up at It's a Wonderful Life He used to send me articles from his Yahoo email account that he thought I'd like We used to play a game called "Nightmare" where he would lie down and we'd jump around (and sometimes on) him He would clip possible recipes for us to try out of newspapers and magazines We bought him a Paddington Bear to take on trips because we feared he'd be lonely and he always took it He had teddy bears for three different holidays We once had such a hilariously difficult time building a gingerbread house that when some frosting ended up on the counter, I plopped a gumdrop on it and we laughed until we cried He and his sister were born about 11 months apart We would try recipes from Top Chef He kept gifts I made him, even when they weren't great At Christmas, ...
