Another 15 ideas for Valentine's Day gifts in 2026 that are last minute

These are a range of prices, but are just some things that I thought would be fun for either a platonic or romantic gift and can be last minute (yes, most will be gift cards).   1. Gift Card for Groupon (yes, this is pretty open, but I like to think of it as, "Hey, let's set money aside to do something together"), "The Groupon Gift Card isn’t just a present; it’s a gateway to countless memories waiting to be made" (price varies, could be platonic or romantic)
  2. Same Day Pickup Item from Walgreens Photo, "Turn everyday moments into lasting keepsakes" (price varies especially as things are 50%+ off through 2/14, could be platonic or romantic)
  3. The Last Chapter Book Shop ONLINE ONLY Giftcard, "The Last Chapter is more than a place to buy books—it’s a thoughtfully curated, community-driven hub for romance fans in Chicago" (price varies and read the fine print and note you can also go in person to buy a physical card that can be used in-person, could be romantic or platonic)
  4. Same Day Flower Delivery from 1800Flowers, "With our same-day service, your heartfelt gift will arrive fresh and ready to make a lasting impression, no matter the occasion" (mid+, more romantic)
  5. Grubhub Gift Card (yes, this is pretty open, but I like to think of it as, "Hey, let's set money aside to order in tasty food together"), "With Grubhub gift cards, friends and family can order food anytime from their favorite restaurants" (price varies, could be romantic or platonic)
  6. Same Day Delivery from Insacart (yes, this is pretty open, but they helpfully have a "popular gifts" section that includes categories like chocolate), "With our same-day delivery, you can get a gift basket together quickly and easily" (price varies, could be romantic or platonic depending on what you select)
  7. Build-A-Bear (NB: same day delivery requires ordering before 12pm and is delivered via Uber), "Make memories that last a lifetime by personalizing your own furry friend with a new outfit, sound, and more" (mid+, more romantic, but could be platonic)
  8. Insomnia Cookies Delivery (I'm partial to the idea of a Heart Cookie Cake, though I'd need to check if it has soy), "Give the gift everyone loves - warm cookies delivered from insomnia" (price varies, more romantic)
  9. SPAFINDER e-Gift Card (be sure to read the fine print, but this saves you time in researching spas for the most part and allows for flexibility), "The world's best-selling Spa and Salon Gift Card" (price varies, but most spas are going to be pricey, more romantic)
  10. Unboxme e-Gift Care Package (TBH, I'm not 100% sure how it works, but I BELIEVE recipients will get like a preview of what you're sending?), "Unboxme is all about delivering joy – to our customers, to people receiving our gifts, and to the incredible small businesses we’re honored to work alongside" (mid+, could be romantic or platonic depending on what you select)
  11. Soulmate Sketch and Reading from Etsy (okay, this is a bit out there, but could be a very fun Galentine's Day gift for the right gal), "Within the same hour (active hours), you receive a digital sketch and a full written reading crafted with care and Spirit’s precision" (on the cheaper end, platonic)
  12. Valentine’s Day Download Gifts from Etsy, "Ready to print ASAP" (price varies, could be romantic or platonic depending on what you select)
  13. Item from One of Etsy’s Best Gift Guides (on Etsy, you can mark an order as a gift so that the recipient gets an email preview of the item even before it ships), "Discover curated picks for every person and moment, straight from extraordinary small shops" (price varies, could be romantic or platonic depending on what you select)
  14. Broadway In Chicago Gift Certificate, (yes, this is relatively open, but I like to think of it as, "Hey, let's see a show together," also, be sure to read the fine print), "Use your Broadway In Chicago gift certificate to purchase any of our great shows!" (mid+, more romantic, but could be platonic)
  15. Goldbelly Gift, (NB: not all can be delivered ASAP, but some can!), "Goldbelly is an online food delivery marketplace that partners with U.S. restaurants, bakeries, and purveyors to ship specialty items nationwide" (price varies, could be romantic or platonic depending on what you select)

15 Valentine's Day cards with alligators or crocodiles

I'm angry

I'm angry. And I don't (at the moment) want to be talked out of it. I struggle, often, with expressing or even just sitting with my emotions. I feel like even the photo I chose for this post was more reserved or toned down than how I feel.  But, this is my trying. I'm not going to time this post, just going to write until I feel done, whenever that may be. In this post, I'm going to focus on the anger I feel around my dad and my dad's death. Though, don't get me wrong, I'm also angry about a lot of things going on in my city, in my country, and in the world. My dad chose alcohol over me and my brother. There is no way around this fact. Yes, when I am less angry, I can be more reasonabl and recognize that addiction is a disesase and he didn't have control over it. But, right now, I want to be angry. I want to get to be angry. I want to get to feel my feelings. I don't want to rationalize, I don't want to be reasonable, I don't want to be fair....
