Thoughts on RuPaul's Drag Race season 18, episode 8

The Snatch Game of Love: Island!

  1. Aw, poor Juicy
  2. Oop more of the remaining queens have wins than I realized
  3. Uh, Discord, I don't think you've always gotten 4.95 star critiques
  4. Oop a Darlene is starting a curse
  5. Omg Mrs. Claus is a funny pick for Darlene
  6. Truman Capote is an interesting one on Jane's part
  7. Discord doing the pope is hilarious, but definitely could offend some folks
  8. Myki does sound like Drew Barrymore
  9. To be fair, Kenya, yes Willow did have to lip sync for her life after impersonating Barrymore, but she also went on to win the season
  10. Oh, Juicy, I'm worried for you
  11. Mia, Big Ang was done before Kori King as well
  12. Nini, I'd go with David Attenborough
  13. Juicy, you don't know Brooke Shields?
  14. It doesn't feel good to tell Athena to "go Greek"
  15. Okay, Athena, "Greta Feta" is a pretty funny name (and so far at least, she's funny herself)
  16. Jane, no surprise, is hilarious
  17. Mia leaning into her physicality is a great choice (but oof, banter is not working yet)
  18. Nini saying "Hello" got me, so that bodes well
  19. Darlene isn't starting off the strongest of the pack, but she is making me laugh
  20. Wow these boys are so cute
  21. Athena! Don't thank Mia for bombing!
  22. Kenya looks great, undeniable, and is making me giggle
  23. Okay, I liked Kenya playing the flute
  24. Myki is just so cute and charming
  25. Juicy isn't doing great, but I do think she's doing better than Mia did
  26. Discord is quick on her feet!
  27. Cute and funny that the dudes pick each other
  28. Aw, I want to hug Darlene
  29. I do love how sparkly Ru's dress is (though the silhouette isn't my favorite)
  30. Wait, Michelle, didn't Ru ask who your first kiss was with (not when it was)?
  31. I wonder if Carson actually shared the name of his first kiss
  32. Brooke...uh oh...I'm so sorry
  33. I love Athena's dress (though the boobs look a tad off), but her makeup isn't working for me
  34. Jane knows how to work her quirk
  35. Wow how is Mia so hot?
  36. Nini is just adorable
  37. Of course Darlene picked Dolly Parton (she looks good though!)
  38. Kenya's hair is incredible, but that dress isn't the best for her
  39. Myki is so fun
  40. Juicy's look is a "Whoa" for me
  41. Discord is having a good time, and I love that
  42. Oops Discord is safe (again)...she's gonna be pissed (I may have to get Untucked)
  43. Michelle always hates on queens' shoes
  44. I mean this is cute that Brooke gets to finally walk a runway, but it also makes it feel like this episode did not have enough content to fill the time
  45. I'm happy for Nini
  46. Oof, Kenya is probably going home (though I do find her, overall, to be more charismatic than Mia)
  47. Kenya did hold her own, but I am a tad surprised that she survived again (although, again, I am more charmed by her than Mia)
  48. Aw, I am still sad to see Mia go
  49. Next time is the Rusical!
  50. Can't wait!

15 facts I learned from a random Wikipedia article

Original prompt: click on "Random Wikipedia Article" and write about whatever comes up (you can try 3 times and pick your favorite). For the record, I got Alejandro Estivill , Fencing at the 2011 Pan American Games – Women's épée , and Benjamin F. Jonas . I chose Benjamin F. Jonas because it was the longest of the three entries and it had a photo. He was born in Kentucky, moved to Illinois as a kid, and went to college and spent the rest of his life in Louisiana Jonas's father was a merchant and lawyer His father knew Lincoln (like they were real buds) Despite this, Jonas sided with the confederacy Not only did he side with the confederacy, but he joined the Confederate army and rose to the rank of major He went to University of Louisiana (now Tulane) Jonas was Jewish (I didn't know there were Jewish senators who served the Confederacy) He was the second Jewish U.S. Senator from Louisiana and the third Jewish Senator overall Jonas was the first Ashkenazi Jewish US...

Origin story or first issue of a superhero whose super power is geometry

Arya sat in history class and was bored. She longed to get to geometry, where things made more sense. She liked geometry so much that she had joined the math team to be able to do it more. Okay, there was also the extra time with her friends who loved math as much as she did, but some of the appeal was just the math itself. Finally the bell rang and Arya had four minutes to get to her geometry class. She passed right by the chemistry class next door where her least favorite teacher was conducting experiments. He needed to be more careful, thought Arya. The teacher had once exploded a glass beaker and not on purpose. Arya took her seat and excitedly pulled out her notebook. It was her favorite color: hot pink. She assigned her notebook and folder colors in ways that felt right to her. And since geometry was her favorite subject, she made her notebook and folder for it her favorite color. As the teacher started to go over the most common mistakes from the last quiz, Arya could've swo...

Color palette

Original prompt: "Google "color palette," pick one, and write something inspired by it." I actually Googled "color palette public domain" to be sure I could use it and found the image on this post. I used the "floral" section for my inspiraiton. The soft sunlight somehow didn't dim the shine of the fireflies. Such it was in the fae realm. Fern loved this time of day in the faewild where it wasn't quite day, but it was far from night. Fern frolicked alone in the glade as she was want to do. It didn't matter to her that her laughter carried itself alone on the breeze; she was content. She wasn't sure how long she'd been alone as she watched the suns begin to set, but it was pleasant in its own way. But then, she heard a noise. It wasn't the noise of leaves on the wind or twigs snapping from some comforting creature. It was the noise of someone approaching with grim determination. Fern wasn't sure how to ready herself to ...
