Thoughts on RuPaul's Drag Race season 18, episode 14

Time for a morning show challenge!

  1. Aw I love that all the queens love Jane (and each other)
  2. I somehow really adored them just walking hand in hand through the werkroom
  3. Yeah...we haven't seen Darlene lip sync
  4. I feel like a morning show challenge is an odd choice for the final four
  5. So Ru is doing portraits?
  6. I totally forgot Nini was a mechanical engineer
  7. So who actually did the Nini portrait (was it AI?)?
  8. Aw Juicy, I'm glad you and your dad are on better turns
  9. Again, who is doing the art?
  10. Myki, I'm so glad you have great friends, but Ru's question was who was going to be surprised you were top four...
  11. Myki's portrait's face doesn't match
  12. Ru...it's weird to cast someone that you think can't make to the top four (it's also weird to be like "Oh I didn't think you'd make top four, but I did make all of the decisions that led to that")
  13. Aw, Darlene, I'm so sorry (but like, forget those who don't support you)
  14. Darlene, what do you mean that your relationship with your dad is newer?
  15. Aw, I know that Darlene is now married and I love it for her
  16. Darlene's portrait is my favorite
  17. I both love and hate Nini's wig for the morning show
  18. Okay so how is Ross supposed to help if they only get one take?
  19. Juicy and Nini's diction was impressive, but it would've been funnier if they'd flopped
  20. Juicy and Nini should've commented on the stiff and sweet carrot peels
  21. Juicy putting her head in between the guest's thighs was funny to me
  22. Darlene's murder plot was funny
  23. "Can I say mother on television?" got me good, Myki
  24. Myki and Darlene's chemistry is just fun
  25. Wait, two of the Snatch Game of Love Island guys were a real couple?!
  26. I do love the queens talking about first impressions of each other and where they are now (but, Darlene, MAYBE don't say you thought Juicy was going to be "spicy" when you first met her?)
  27. So, Juicy looks STUNNING (no surprise), but I want the outfit to be a bit tighter?
  28. Nini's look is really interesting and I was so impressed when she said she hand-painted and stoned the look herself
  29. Myki looks beautiful, but I want the arch to be even more intricate
  30. Darlene looks great, but I kind of wanted more kookiness in her "drag excellence" look
  31. Okay, I don't like Michelle judging Juicy on "life experiences"
  32. I actually probably would've just picked Darlene to win, but Myki was great too
  33. Gosh, I just thought about how difficult it must be to make a "Drag Excellence" runway look that you can also reasonably dance in
  34. Dear god can Juicy dance (sorry, Michelle, you said her dancing was a 10/10, but it's at least a 15)
  35. That said, Nini's track record is better, so I see why she stayed
  36. Juicy...stop quoting "the Juice is loose"
  37. Aha, we are getting a Lip Sync LalapaRuza!
  38. Wait, yeah, how have we STILL not seen Darlene lip sync?
  39. Next week is the LalapaRuza!
  40. It'll be fun to see all of the season's queens again!

15 facts I learned from a random Wikipedia article

Original prompt: click on "Random Wikipedia Article" and write about whatever comes up (you can try 3 times and pick your favorite). For the record, I got Alejandro Estivill , Fencing at the 2011 Pan American Games – Women's épée , and Benjamin F. Jonas . I chose Benjamin F. Jonas because it was the longest of the three entries and it had a photo. He was born in Kentucky, moved to Illinois as a kid, and went to college and spent the rest of his life in Louisiana Jonas's father was a merchant and lawyer His father knew Lincoln (like they were real buds) Despite this, Jonas sided with the confederacy Not only did he side with the confederacy, but he joined the Confederate army and rose to the rank of major He went to University of Louisiana (now Tulane) Jonas was Jewish (I didn't know there were Jewish senators who served the Confederacy) He was the second Jewish U.S. Senator from Louisiana and the third Jewish Senator overall Jonas was the first Ashkenazi Jewish US...

Origin story or first issue of a superhero whose super power is geometry

Arya sat in history class and was bored. She longed to get to geometry, where things made more sense. She liked geometry so much that she had joined the math team to be able to do it more. Okay, there was also the extra time with her friends who loved math as much as she did, but some of the appeal was just the math itself. Finally the bell rang and Arya had four minutes to get to her geometry class. She passed right by the chemistry class next door where her least favorite teacher was conducting experiments. He needed to be more careful, thought Arya. The teacher had once exploded a glass beaker and not on purpose. Arya took her seat and excitedly pulled out her notebook. It was her favorite color: hot pink. She assigned her notebook and folder colors in ways that felt right to her. And since geometry was her favorite subject, she made her notebook and folder for it her favorite color. As the teacher started to go over the most common mistakes from the last quiz, Arya could've swo...

Color palette

Original prompt: "Google "color palette," pick one, and write something inspired by it." I actually Googled "color palette public domain" to be sure I could use it and found the image on this post. I used the "floral" section for my inspiraiton. The soft sunlight somehow didn't dim the shine of the fireflies. Such it was in the fae realm. Fern loved this time of day in the faewild where it wasn't quite day, but it was far from night. Fern frolicked alone in the glade as she was want to do. It didn't matter to her that her laughter carried itself alone on the breeze; she was content. She wasn't sure how long she'd been alone as she watched the suns begin to set, but it was pleasant in its own way. But then, she heard a noise. It wasn't the noise of leaves on the wind or twigs snapping from some comforting creature. It was the noise of someone approaching with grim determination. Fern wasn't sure how to ready herself to ...
