For those unfamiliar with Dropout TV, it's a comedy subscription streaming service run by the production company that was formerly CollegeHumor. One of their series is Game Changer which is described as a game show where the game changes every show. So, here are 15 ideas for Game Changer that could be for a main game or one of their minigame interludes (that I don't believe have been done before)!
- Triplayer Maze (main): loosely inspired by a hedge maze in a popular middle-grade/YA fantasy series by a hateful author, players would have to make their way through a hedge maze while facing various creepy obstacles and puzzles with one chance to send up a flare to bail out
- Who's Your Daddy? (mini): players will look at photoshopped images of what a baby with two different cast members as their parents would look like and then must guess who the cast members are
- Can I have a Clue, Though? (main): in a themed scavenger hunt, players would have to remember various Game Changer references in order to understand a series of clues that will lead them to their significant other and a chance to win an all-expenses paid vacation. For this to work, I imagine each player will either have their own hunt or will do their lap of the hunt independently of the other players and the one with the shortest time wins the prize
- Verbatim (mini): players are challenged to recite famous speeches (from history, movies, or even their own lives) from memory
- The Cryptid has Been Here the Whole Time (main): players are dropped in a (safe) remote area of the woods where the podiums are each set up with camping supplies. As the players set up camp, they will uncover various items that indicate the previous users of the camping supplies had been trying to get a photo of an elusive cryptid (perhaps based on a roseate spoonbill?). The players must then take up the task of photography this cryptid (who is being played by an actor) out in the woods (either together or separately). At various points in time, Sam could pop out from behind a tree or something ("I've been here the whole time") to give helpful clues or suggestions and declare what actions the players have taken so far to earn points
- One Star Movies (mini): players will have to guess what movie is being described by a one star review
- Now That's What I Call a Noun (main): inspired by Mad Libs, players will have to supply kinds of words to complete a fill-in-the-blank story. However, while the kinds of words will start out broad (e.g. noun or number), they will get increasingly specific (e.g. noun of something in your car right now that you wouldn't want a potential paramour to see or number of jumping jacks you'd bet you can do in 30 seconds while having buckets of cold water dumped on you) and will require verification (e.g. a PA will go to the player's car and confirm the noun is there or the player will have to prove they can do the number of jumping jacks they'd bet they could do in 30 seconds while having buckets of cold water dumped on them). Successfully providing a word will earn players points (with a scale that increases with the complexity of the prompts) and failing to do so will lose players points (also with a scale that increases with the complexity of the prompts)
- Two Thumbs Down (mini): players will have to give a quick two thumbs down review of a variety of things from books to TV shows to celebrity brands
- Three Players and a Robot Baby (main): the players will become co-parents to a robot baby and will be tasked for caring for the robot baby (for whom they must also agree on a name) for 24 hours. They will be staying overnight in the green room together (where they will have to locate the robot baby by hearing its cries from the Game Changer set), but other than that, will go about their days. Players will earn points for taking good care of the baby and lose points for failing to. If there is a disagreement about who will take care of the baby (e.g. Which player will change this diaper?) that cannot be decided by a majority, then a D6 is rolled (each player will have claimed two of the following numbers before the game is explained: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6), and then whoever's number the D6 shows is who gets to do the task
- Chibi Me (mini): players will have to identify which Dropout cast member's chibi style portrait they are looking at
- Dropout's Got Talent (main): players will first be asked to perform a short act at Dropout's talent show doing a known talent of theirs. Next, players will go backstage and retrieve an item with which another player will have to perform a short talent show act with. Finally, players will go backstage, retrieve an item, and then describe the short act that another player will have to perform. A panel of other dropout cast members will judge each act in each round and award points
- Ghosts in the Machine (mini): I imagine this as the mini for the main below. For this minigame, the players will be giving a ghost box (radio devices which randomly scan AM and FM frequencies, presenting the audio as the words of spirits) that is actually just going to play recordings made by Dropout. The players will earn points for figuring out what words have been recorded and garbled
- Droppityville Horror (main): once the players take the stage, the lights go out. Sam illuminates his face with a flashlight and explains that there is a haunting at Dropout studios and it is the players' job to investigate. I imagine this being kind of like a sandbox game with various ways to move around the studios and, if the players attempt to contact spirits or find any evidence (that has been planted) of a haunting, they can earn points
- Drop, Drop, Out (mini): Essentially "Duck, Duck, Goose," but the players will play with additional cast members and must keep renaming the game and changing what action they do to the person who will be tagged in as the "Goose". Whoever is the "Goose" when an unknown timer goes off, wins the greatest number of points. Whoever came up with the best new name gets the second greatest number of points
- The Wooing Game (main): 100% based on The Dating Game, the players find themselves as the eligible suitors answering questions to try and get a date with a mysterious single. The questions have all been written by other Dropout staff and the players will use voice modifiers so that the single can't pre-determine who they are. I don't know who the single should be--either another cast member or a celebrity of some ilk I think. In the end, whoever gets the date, wins the game
