15 clichƩs I'm sick of hearing

Original prompt: "What clichĆ©s are you sick of hearing?" Now I definitely am guilty of using these so it's not a judgment on those who do! I'm just tired of these. Don’t cry over spilled milk All is fair in love and war All’s well that ends well Time heals all wounds When life gives you lemons, make lemonade Avoid like the plague Can't cut the mustard Beyond the pale Cleanliness is next to godliness Beggars can't be choosers Don't  look a gift horse in the mouth Blood is thicker than water Every dog has its day Best thing since sliced bread Good things come to those who wait (Prompt provided by Brianna Aaron) "Lemonade" by Peter Handke

What are you dreading?

Note that this is a heavy post. TW/CW: death of a parent, alcoholism. So there is an obvious thing I'm dreading in my life and that is the death of my father. Last week my brother and I were told not to expect more than six months. Now we have to take this with a grain of salt as we were told a similar thing before. However, that was before he was receiving treatment and now he has been receiving top notch treatment for about two years. On the flip side, he's also always teetering on the edge of a catastrophic event so he could die very quickly at any moment. Last week we had the conversation about whether to put him on hospice and ultimately decided against it as it would preclude treatment for what he's most recently been to the hospital for and that seems like too big of a sacrifice at this point. However, I went to go visit him this past Sunday and he was so exhausted he couldn't sit up for more than three minutes (I timed it). The fact that this is his life now is ...

15 of the worst things that have happened on dates/dating apps

I'm modifying the original prompt ("Who is the worst person you've ever dated?") because I've only had one boyfriend and this feels more fun. Note that these don't include terrible profiles I've seen. Also, I am well aware that people have had way way way worse things happen on dates. Stood up and I was at the restaurant Stood up but we hadn't picked a place yet (but he had confirmed that morning that we were hanging out that evening) Stood up and I had been WAITING because he kept said he was looking for parking (maybe he was but I waited over an hour) A guy asked me, "but wouldn't you just want to meet Trump? He's such a good business man." A guy told me mid-20s was too late to change your life for the better (we were in our mid-20s) A guy complimented my hair to say that he'd love to grab a fistful of it A guy wouldn't listen when I said I wasn't interested (he suggested that since I wasn't interested in dating that...
