3 limericks

A new poem style to try! There once was a girl from Chicago who wanted to learn how to bongo. But she was quite bad and her neighbors got mad and so she left long ago. I once had a terrible itch that nagged so much I did twitch. So I began to scratch until my nail did catch and I didn't know which problem to fix. Deep in a swamp was a gator who wanted to be something greater. And so she did swim in a river so dim that soon she need a locator. (Prompt by me) Photo source

Thoughts on the Bachelor's fantasy suites episode

Having the women live together this week was a CHOICE. This talk is edited well. The lack of music makes it feel more intense. Peter, it's pretty weird to say you're in love with woman and falling in love with another but still plan on sleeping with 3 people. Peter, no. You're not in love with all 3. Are they actually excited to see each other? This is so weird. Honestly I expect better than jetskis for a fantasy suite date. Peter, you mean you have a physical connection. And there is the shot we've been waiting all season for. We don't see them wake up together? THIS. IS. WEIRD. I still don't get why Peter likes Victoria So did Chase Rice never ask you how you were feeling? Do you all have fun together? "It's just the two of us," says the man on a hugely popular TV show. Wow Peter is actually admitting that he needs drama. I wonder if Chris Harrison actually writes these notes. Okay then room is nice, but they're acting like

Re-writing "The Discontented Frogs"

One night a family of frogs was visited by their dear owl friend who had a problem she hoped they could mend. "I'm having a party tomorrow night, but the invitations I forgot to send!" An offer of inviting others in the morning the frog family did extend. When the sun began to rise high, the frog family set out to invite all they came by. They hoped other animals would not be too shy and non would give them a side eye. The frog family tried to invite a nearby cow but they soon realized that they did not know how to get the attention of her to say ciao. And soon they had to dodge her hooves lest they trample their brow. Next the frog family swam to a nearby pond, but with Mama frog a big fish did try to abscond. Even though within them fear had spawned, they still tried to get the fish to their invitation respond. Next the family of frogs called to a crane, b

Re-writing "Dame Trot and Her Comical Cat"

A long time ago there was a witch, who had a dog, but considered a switch. While out for the day they found a cat, a stray. With a look they decided that to her they'd hitch. Back in their humble abode, the witch went into a welcoming mode. To her furry pals she gave some milk. And with a wave, some of her magic she bestowed. As the sun went down and their hearth warmed the witch's furry friends transformed. They got rather big and started a jig. And to their hearts' delight they performed. But when the next day the sun arose, the cat and dog found that not all of their changes were pros. The witch asked for their help and in protest they gave a yelp, but in seeing her sadness, chores they chose. The witch went off shopping in town, then the pals stopped working and sewed a gown. The dog played a horse but found the gown quite coarse and so he

Re-writing "Amusing Tales"

Knowing there was a child in trouble, Rose grabbed her trusty pet and the two sought out and found the lost girl trapped and breaking a sweat. But soon Rose's loyal dog pulled the little girl out of the bog. Meanwhile, Rose had arranged a small cart to take the other sister to town. On the ride her sad face tugged on a boy's heart. After the rescue, Rose propped the scared girl up and let her ride to town on the rescuing pup. Re-writing "The Babes in the Woods"

When Mr. Rodrigo received his pay, he knew how he'd like to spend the rest of his day: out on his horse with his daughter May. Mr. Rodrigo and his little girl trotted down the road and when they saw another father and daughter they slowed. "A fine afternoon!" to each other they bestowed. The two fathers tried to put on quite a show so that their daughters would be aglow with pride and gasp a "Whoa!" But their daughters grew bored of any tricks with a sword and so they set, their departure ignored. The found a small clearing in which to lie. New and somewhat frightening creatures they did spy. But as they watched, the realized that the animals looked quite lovely against the sky. Soon they grew tired and lay down to sleep. Elsewhere in the woods, their fathers did weep until the found their daughters snoozing in a hea

Re-writing "Bright Thoughts for Little Ones"

Our dearest friends come in all shapes and sizes, but in our hearts, they are all prizes. Friends can teach each other just like a big brother. Some friends are your own kin whose love for you comes from deep within. Some friends neigh or quack, but they've always got your back. Friends will spend the entire day talking with you about new things to play. Sometimes friends will fight, but if your friendship is true, it will turn out all right. Friends can sip on tea, and gab about all they'd like to see. And when all seems wrong, friends help us to be strong. (Prompt by me) Bright Thoughts for Little Ones  by McLoughlin Bros. Re-writing "Boys and Girls at Play"

Little Mary May was having a lovely day for she had just gotten a new kitten with which to play. In an instant the new kitten did pounce on Mary May's bird that didn't even weigh an ounce. And that poor bird, the kitten did trounce. Mary May's mother and sister found the salesman who had sold them the feline devil's kinsman. He agreed to take back the cat and then ran. To calm all of their hearts, they decided to find comfort in some arts by picking flowers and then baking some tarts. As the day wound down, they all managed not to wear a frown when they heard Papa coming home from town. With a pride in his stride, he scooped Mary May up to his side, and of the day she'd had she did confide. (Prompt by me) Boys and Girls at Play  by McLoughlin Bros. Readable here

Re-writing "Adventures of Henny Penny and Her Friends"

There once was a hen who moved to a farm who then found with some alarm, that friends she did lack, and so fast as a crack, she set out to share with others, her charm. The first creature she did drop by was a fine rooster who caught her eye. She called out to say that is was a fine day, and hoped that a new friend she did spy. Hen and Rooster strutted to the pond and saw a duck with whom they'd like to bond. "We are looking for a pal who can show us the locale." "And that I can do," the duck did respond. The trio trotted over a hill, and found another creature with a bill. "Would you like to be our friend?" "Alone I have had to fend, and so having new friends would be brill." As the four continued their stroll they came over a grassy knoll. A proud turkey called to them "Hello, er, eh hem, would you mind if, with you, I did roll?" T
