15 possible events for the start of my new D&D campaign (aka creating a new D&D world, part 25)

Not too too long ago, I purchased The Ultimate RPG Game Master's Worldbuilding Guide: Prompts and Activities to Create and Customize Your Own Game World by James D'Amato and it, and going whale watching, inspired me to create a new D&D world. So here we go! I'm going to use prompts from the book to begin crafting this world, but not all posts will be from there.

  1. Party is together at a tavern listening to a storytelling competition
  2. Can talk to a mysterious figure with a mysterious box (will trade it for tracking a mysterious amphibious creature)--this is the collector
  3. Can investigate a scuffle outside (break up a bar fight and then a university party)
  4. Can approach the nervous looking bartender (has a quest about a series of robberies)
  5. Can speak to the man who looks damp and is deep in his drink (he has a quest about recovering items from a shipwreck)
  6. Can get into a drinking contest
  7. No matter which path they take, they will end up at the shore and see a kid in a boat without an oar that they will have to rescue
  8. After rescuing the child, they will have to roll a perception check to see if they catch a glimpse of the fae--if they do, their memory is partially wiped
  9. Either way, the child will find out that their parents moved away, so as they prepare to reunite with them, the party can speak with them
  10. The child has not aged enough for having been gone so long but does not remember much about their time away, but does have a story of going through an underwater portal
  11. The party can investigate this story by asking storytellers and will then dicover it has similarities to ancient stories of the fae realm but that people at the university may know more
  12. The party can investigate this story by going to the university and will then dicover that travelers' accounts of trying to find the fae realm are believed to have failed because they didn't have a fae with them but that the collector may know more
  13. The party can investigate this story by talking to the collector and he will imply that he has fae creatures in his collection which he will allow them to see if they track down an aquatic creature for him
  14. The party will then get the aquatic creature and bring it to the collector
  15. The collector will then reveal that the fae "creature" he has in his collection is humanoid (perhaps this will lead to a jail break plan?)

15 facts about my dad

Just been thinking about some lighthearted facts I know about my dad lately.
