Can anyone help me remember the title?

  1. It's historical England or US
  2. Though I think England
  3. The woman has a green dress on the cover
  4. The woman is a widow
  5. The man had like disappared for a portion of his adult life
  6. And his former fiancé has nearly gotten engaged to someone else
  7. Who is evil!
  8. So the man decides, eventually, that he must assert his previous marriage contract with his former fiancé to save her
  9. The man and woman have elicit trysts in like a cottage
  10. The woman had never had pleasure from sex before the man
  11. I believe he initially made a bet with her that he could teach her about sexual pleasure without using his hands
  12. And he does
  13. I remember they think they're going to only have one more passionate night before the man gets engaged to his former fiancé
  14. I don't remember how it resolves, but the man and the woman get together
  15. I believe the author is a woman
