I knew I was going to have a tough day over the past weekend, so I indulged and booked myself a massage for the following day. However, as you'll see from reading, it was not the best experience. I am fully aware that complaining about a massage is a whiny thing to do, but I wanted to get the thoughts that were swirling through my head onto a (digital) page.
- I am too in my head
- My inner legs are more sensitive than I thought
- I might be a tad touch-starved (touch-hungry?)
- My body kind of recoils from touch though
- I did not know that muscle could flinch like that (or even that that was a muscle)
- While I do mostly want quiet during a massage, I was a little perturbed that she worked on my chest (over the blanket) without giving me a heads up (I have never had a masseuse touch there before)
- I thought the masseuse said this oil was "lemon grass," but I did have my headphones in when she was listing the possible scents and I think it was just "lemon"
- Does the masseuse want me to praise her more? She has asked a few times now if the pressure is good and when I say it is, she says, "Thank you" (perhaps I have not had enough massages to know the proper etiquette)
- I wish this massage table was wider
- What is she spraying on my feet? All she said was it would be a bit cold
- I wonder if there's a way to pick what audio plays during a massage (maybe I'd be more out of my head if I could listen to an audiobook or something)
- Is there such a thing as massage tables with adjustable heights? It'd be so much easier to get on and off if I didn't have to like climb up or hop down
- I think I might've just preferred asking someone I know to scratch my head for a while
- Well, this robe they're handing me sure doesn't seem like "one size fits all"
- I don't think that was an hour... (it was actually 45 minutes)
(Prompt by me)
