Thoughts on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars season 11, episode 12

Time for the finale (already)!

  1. So, Joey, is it the most original if it's been done already?
  2. A'keria, I'm so sorry
  3. I'm sorry, I LOVED A'keria's performance
  4. A'keria is having such a rough go and I'm so sorry
  5. Jasmine, Dawn's point was that judging on A'keria having made the puppets in the Werk Room is odd...not that judging A'keria at all was odd
  6. Also, while I think it may not have been the best strategy to make the puppets in the Werk Room, I could easily see that being a better plan than shipping fully made puppets and having them break in transit--like aren't there limitations on how many pieces of luggage the queens can bring?
  7. I would say that Joey should've won some challenges
  8. I think the producers should've waited a beat more after Joey said, "Line?" to make the cue for the Ru mail
  9. Wait, why couldn't the show get Norvina in person?
  10. Um...Silky I did love your streak of lip syncs, but I wouldn't say you're the one who popularized this format
  11. Crystal, did your mom really say that?
  12. A'keria is sparkly and stunning
  13. Silky looks beautiful, but it's so clear she's hiding Ruveals
  14. Crystal looks perfectly in her aesthetic, but yeah, also hiding Ruveals
  15. Joey's cover for her Ruveals is not my favorite
  16. Dawn looks hot
  17. Jasmine looks stunning
  18. So we're just sending Crystal and Jasmine ahead...sure
  19. I do love Silky more than Dawn, but Silky looked genuinely annoyed at Dawn doing better than she expected and I think is pulling out too many of her tricks too early (I do think I ultimately enjoyed Silky's performance more though)
  20. And Ru agrees
  21. I love both Joey and A'keria, but I am enjoying A'keria's performance more (not to say that Joey doesn't have some moves though)
  22. Dawn, you HAVE to know by now that you'll have to wait to see who wins the lip sync
  23. Huh, I did not expect Joey to win...not only because I thought A'keria did better but because I assumed the show anted a Silky vs. A'keria lip sync
  24. Dang, I love both Silky and Joey
  25. Silky, you did your glitter effect too far from the judges
  26. Joey, that was an impressive backbend
  27. I think Joey will win that, but I'll be sad to see either lose
  28. Ru agrees that Joey stays
  29. I am preferring Jasmine's approach to this song
  30. While I thought Jasmine did better, I am not surprised that Ru picked Crystal to move forward
  31. Like, $25k is great, but I totally thought the second place prize was going to be higher
  32. I do think this song is more in Crystal's repertoire
  33. I do enjoy Crystal's look more
  34. Looked like Joey stopped lip syncing for a sec
  35. I thought the both did well, but I bet Ru is going to crown Crystal
  36. And, yep, Ru gave Crystal the win
  37. I have to say, I feel like the finales in the bracketed All Stars seasons always feel too rushed
  38. I do love Crystal, but it would've been kinda fun if Joey had won
  39. The Anastasia Beverly Hills ad was not well composed (IMO)
  40. Well...there we have it!

15 facts I learned from a random Wikipedia article

Original prompt: click on "Random Wikipedia Article" and write about whatever comes up (you can try 3 times and pick your favorite). For the record, I got Alejandro Estivill , Fencing at the 2011 Pan American Games – Women's épée , and Benjamin F. Jonas . I chose Benjamin F. Jonas because it was the longest of the three entries and it had a photo. He was born in Kentucky, moved to Illinois as a kid, and went to college and spent the rest of his life in Louisiana Jonas's father was a merchant and lawyer His father knew Lincoln (like they were real buds) Despite this, Jonas sided with the confederacy Not only did he side with the confederacy, but he joined the Confederate army and rose to the rank of major He went to University of Louisiana (now Tulane) Jonas was Jewish (I didn't know there were Jewish senators who served the Confederacy) He was the second Jewish U.S. Senator from Louisiana and the third Jewish Senator overall Jonas was the first Ashkenazi Jewish US...

Origin story or first issue of a superhero whose super power is geometry

Arya sat in history class and was bored. She longed to get to geometry, where things made more sense. She liked geometry so much that she had joined the math team to be able to do it more. Okay, there was also the extra time with her friends who loved math as much as she did, but some of the appeal was just the math itself. Finally the bell rang and Arya had four minutes to get to her geometry class. She passed right by the chemistry class next door where her least favorite teacher was conducting experiments. He needed to be more careful, thought Arya. The teacher had once exploded a glass beaker and not on purpose. Arya took her seat and excitedly pulled out her notebook. It was her favorite color: hot pink. She assigned her notebook and folder colors in ways that felt right to her. And since geometry was her favorite subject, she made her notebook and folder for it her favorite color. As the teacher started to go over the most common mistakes from the last quiz, Arya could've swo...

Color palette

Original prompt: "Google "color palette," pick one, and write something inspired by it." I actually Googled "color palette public domain" to be sure I could use it and found the image on this post. I used the "floral" section for my inspiraiton. The soft sunlight somehow didn't dim the shine of the fireflies. Such it was in the fae realm. Fern loved this time of day in the faewild where it wasn't quite day, but it was far from night. Fern frolicked alone in the glade as she was want to do. It didn't matter to her that her laughter carried itself alone on the breeze; she was content. She wasn't sure how long she'd been alone as she watched the suns begin to set, but it was pleasant in its own way. But then, she heard a noise. It wasn't the noise of leaves on the wind or twigs snapping from some comforting creature. It was the noise of someone approaching with grim determination. Fern wasn't sure how to ready herself to ...
