And another 15 websites (including Etsy shops) that I can't personally recommend for buying holiday gifts, but would still like to promote

I'm sure I'm missing some, but these are ones that I have either heard great things about, bought from in-person, but can't speak to their online capabilities, or that I have been curious about. They are in no particular order. You can read my first "15 websites (including Etsy shops) that I can't personally recommend for buying holiday gifts, but would still like to promote," my second "15 more websites (including Etsy shops) that I can't personally recommend for buying holiday gifts, but would still like to promote," and my third "Another 15 websites (including Etsy shops) that I can't personally recommend for buying holiday gifts, but would still like to promote".

I also wanted to, again, highlight my post "15 websites (including Etsy shops) that I can personally recommend for buying holiday gifts".

I was inspired to do this by We Ain’t Buying It, which is calling on people to stop shopping at Target, Home Depot, and Amazon between Thanksgiving Day and Cyber Monday (I do realize it is now after Thanksgiving). You can read more about this boycott on their website (linked above) or in The Hill's article "‘We Ain’t Buying It’: These retailers are being targeted by holiday shopping boycott" by Alix Martichoux.

  1. Designs by Uchita (I've coveted their stuff at art fairs, but never purchased): A jewelry and accessories brand that captures timeless beauty.
  2. Macramentadas (I've coveted their stuff at art fairs, but never purchased): Welcome to our family jewelry studio, where each piece is a collaborative masterpiece, lovingly crafted by every member of our family. From our home to yours, we design and create fully customizable jewelry, ensuring every creation is as unique as the individual wearing it. Guided by our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, we strive to craft timeless pieces that resonate with people from all walks of life. Here, you’ll find more than jewelry—you’ll find meaningful expressions of artistry designed to be cherished by everyone.
  3. Archisketcht (an Etsy shop whose products I've bought at an in-person event): As an architect, I naturally attach meaning to images of buildings and spaces. A few years ago, I started playing around with sketching buildings that hold meaning for me and/or others, and sent them on postcards to friends and family, which developed into prints as gifts over the holidays.
  4. Milwaukee Terrarium Company (I've coveted their stuff at in-person events, but never purchased): Designer terrariums, handmade in Milwaukee, WI. Our low-maintenance glass gardens are living art.
  5. Kaveh Taherian (bought from at C2E2 and I can personally speak to product quality): Contrary to popular belief, Kaveh is a human being who was born and raised on planet Earth. He holds a BFA in Illustration/Design from Laguna College of Art & Design and an MFA in Film Production from the University of Southern California, ensuring him zero career options outside of the arts. Thankfully his talent, punctuality, and sense of humor have kept him employed (thus far). He currently lives in Los Angeles where he has been known to illustrate books and make movies from time to time.
  6. Jacob Walker Art (coveted at C2E2, but never purchased): Independent artist and illustrator Jacob Walker, specializing in fantasy, sic-fi and lovecraft art.
  7. Cactus Oddities (I've coveted their stuff at in-person events, but never purchased): Plant Collector / Seller in Chicago.
  8. Kaybee Kitsch (bought from at art fairs before and I can personally speak to product quality): Kat of Kaybee Kitsch is best known for crocheting teeny tiny sweaters onto plastic animals, but they make all kinds of jewelry and home decor from plastic toys.
  9. Jeluto (coveted at C2E2, but never purchased): Freelance illustrator // resident fool.
  10. Grace Marie (coveted at C2E2, but never purchased): Established in Puerto Rico, located in Cleveland.
  11. MasterClass (coveted, but never purchased): MasterClass is the streaming platform that makes it possible for anyone to watch or listen to hundreds of video lessons taught by 200+ of the world’s best.
  12. Snowbright Studio (I've been gifted a book from them and while the binding was faulty, the content was great): Award-winning indie tabletop RPGs and board games.
  13. Ladies Corner Shop (bought from at an art fair before and I can personally speak to product quality): With our line of products, whether it’s baking, BBQing, or needing the perfect snarky hostess gift, we have you covered.
  14. Doldos (coveted, but never purchased): Welcome to Doldols, a dedicated e-commerce platform that specializes in Role-Playing Game (RPG) gifts and products.
  15. UniversalZone (an Etsy shop whose products I've coveted): Unique literary accessories.

15 facts about my dad
